ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
I love reading my old stuff. It shows me how bad I really was. So I culled a little, getting rid of the truly terrible stuff, and leaving some of the semi-terrible stuff for laughs.
I've been published in a poetry book (The Nightingale). Oher then that I have no real 'accomplishment' when it comes to writing. I attempt to be honest in my work, drawing very rarely from my experience (I have a drama free and relatively boring life) and instead drawing on imagination and my family and friends.
I write better when I'm in a depressed mood. So that's why at the moment I rarely write. that and it doesn't matter if I write or not. [November 2010]

(As Long As I Keep Walking) Walking The Road Chloe L Batey
Walking this road alone
Learning to get along with my own conscience
Kicking at each little stone
That's plaguing my impatience
Working to stay alive
Walking and trying not to make one turn wrong
Not knowing how until I arrive
Finding comfort in a song
As long as I keep walking
I know I can survive
And even if life goes wrong,
I know I can still be strong
As long as I keep walking
Walking the road.
Keeping my feet moving
Walking from darkness, moving towards the light
Try not to lose the timing
Of a dream of timeless night
As long as I keep walking
I know I can survive
And even if life goes wrong,
I know I can still be strong
As long as I keep walking
Walking the road.
I don't want to lose my way
I don't want to miss the light
I just need to keep on walking
Walking the road
As long as I keep walking
I know I can survive
And even if life goes wrong,
I know I can still be strong
As long as I keep walking
Walking the road.
As long as I keep walking
I know I can survive
And even if life goes wrong,
I know I can still be strong
As long as I keep walking
Walking the road.

"Okay where to start. It would help if I had a melody to work with because then it's just a poem. First Stanza(1): Two rhymes-Do you think that works for a song? 2nd Line is long/has long words-Do you think it could be sung easy, and flow easily into the next paragraph. Overall, I understand right away that you're struggling with your self. Good. I like the stone connection to thoughts. 2nd Stanza (2): Good first line. Second line reverses words to complete rhyme at end (turn wrong)-Do you think that works? I do understand-you're towing the line and don't want to make mistakes. Maybe it's being too obvious. Imagery? 3rd Stanza/Chorus (3): I like it-it's catchy..Walkin' the road. (4): This is your stanza! Better words, no exact double rhyme. It's like you started writing here. Possibly change a couple of small words for rhythm. I need the music! (5): Chorus repeat (6): Bridge to double chorus-this seems fine. I'd have to hear the melody. It almost reminds me of the Johnny Cash song, Walk the Line. You're walking the road. I like it. I can probably do better with review with music, and the ability to revise the piece a little and knock it together until we get something different then match it against the original piece. Then print the best result." -- Howard.
