There's Still An Angel Left In You Tim D Ryan
There’s Still An Angel Left In You
Somewhere I know I’ll see those eyes again,
Though probably not in the same tone or,
In the best of scenarios.
And I, tried so long to get accustomed,
But it’s something I can’t get used to.
It’s just, that some days I was unsure,
If you’d ever wake, or keep breathing.
So I proclaimed my worst fears to you in your sleep,
And I was sure you weren’t listening.
Then again, I was the one always wrong.
And I swear there’s an angel in here somewhere,
We just haven’t gone deep enough.
I know you’d say you’d turn me in, without a second,
A second of thought,
But you’ve been stuttering for several now.
And I, tried so long to get accustomed,
But it’s something I can’t get used to.
It’s just, that some days I was unsure,
If you’d ever wake, or keep breathing.
So please, don’t go comatose quite yet,
I’ve still got secrets to tell.
By the grace that saved us both,
Let me turn on the light and see those eyes.
I tried so long to get accustomed,
But it’s just something I won’t get used to.

"good stuff tim. seems like you are almost beyond being one of the self-absorbed teens infecting this site, and actually have something to say. a bit less angst would help. hope your "songs" sound as good as they read. This poem startles refreshingly. well done. " -- david namerow.
