The District of North Green Street? Yes please! The neighborhood of North Green Street became it's own district in the distant future, in the year 2030, but did anyone follow?
ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
A high-functioning autistic author, Joseph is fighting for the right to be a District Leaders by making his neighborhood into it's own district, over at North Green Street! [October 2015]
We begin our story in the year 2030, where most of Glasgow had divided all of the neighborhoods in Glasgow, KY into their own, Independent Districts. Each neighborhood had control over their own affairs with their neighbors and each other. Most District Leaders didn't know the laws very well, and had tried to enact drug legalization on their respective streets! Never the less, those District Leaders all made theirs' and their neighbors' lives chaotic, and they all either got in-trouble, or they were made to replace t with a City Approved Ordinence.
The District Leaders tried to keep control over their own neighborhoods, but riots and lots of vandalisms struck down most of the town! The level of control wasn't what the District Leaders were hoping for, where they thought they were the sole power over their District! They wanted to override the rules of the rest of the City, but there was only one District Leader who knew the laws and the limits of his authority. He was the only person who could keep his street running smoothly, while also being highly-accessible to the rest of the town.
The business districts were having a hard time bringing in true customers, because the rioting and stealing or vandalism was costing the businesses and the City too much money! People were afraid to go back home, in-particular, to their home in their respective neighborhood. But North Green Street was the only district that would help other Districts get back on their feet. The District Leader of North Green Street was none-other than, Joseph D. Smith, the leader of the District Neighborhood Movement.
What started all of this? The fact that the District Neighborhood Movement helped enact a city-wide ordinance, which passed the City Council by a vote of 6-4! This movement gave all neighborhoods their own District, it gave all neighborhoods their freedom! The District of North Green Street organized all neighborhoods, including the rich District of South Green Street, all the way to the projects in the District of McKenna Street, so that they could form as a voluntary association aimed to educate and train those who need help running their turf. Things got better, but the city needed money to help pay for all of the damage, and that's when Joseph, the District Leader of the District of North Green Street came in!
“All Districts will pay their own flat-tax, just for their own District neighborhoods.” The City Council liked the idea, but the Voluntary Association was divid even more than before, and everything errupted as the District Leaders could not come to an agreement, and from then, all of North Green Street was despised from there on end!
North Green Street ended up being the only neighborhood that was still it's own district.
We take it back a little; It is the year 2015, and North Green Street still isn't it's own district! We have our own needs here in Glasgow, KY on North Green Street that the city itself couldn't provide, not unless the neighborhood is given it's own limited-autonomous District! Costs would go down for citizens of North Green Street, KY, so that they could afford eat, while not going without! It would help save taxes, and people who could actually afford to live without government benefits would be able to help and pay their fair-share in taxes! More resources would be allocated to the District of North Green Street, when it is given it's own district.
