The Doctor Is In.
Emory L Griffin

Richard Johnson was not, by any stretch of the imagination, a happy man. He was currently going through a divorce, which he still did not know what reason for. Although he suspected the gardener played a role in it. It was the impending divorce that had him wheezing and limping slightly up the same road looking for the resteraunt he was suppose to meet his wife and her lawyer. He cursed under his breath as his search, once again, yielded no results. He looked to his right and saw a white building, he was sure, wasn't there a moment ago. He shrugged and opened the heavy wooden doors and made his way inside. He looked around and saw nothing but an empty room, as he turned to exit a voice rang out, "oh no my dear friend, why is it you are leaving when you have just gotten here?" Startled, Richard looked up and saw an extremely tall man coming down a stairwell he had not seen on his quick glance at the room. The man was dressed in a surgeons outfit, which richard noticed was splattered with blood. As the man in the surgeons outfit came toward him Richard felt an immediate feeling of uneasiness, which must have shown on his face, for the "doctor" bounded forward, with a quickness Richard would not have expected from such a tall, burly man, and seized him around the neck. Richard, caught off guard, found himself being pulled through a doorway and down some stairs into a dark stone room. Richard began to struggle and felt a brief flare of pain, as his captor clipped him in the temple, and then darkness overtook him. He came to moments later to a pounding headache and as he tried to move he noticed he was clamped down on some sort of table with his arms and legs bound with thick chains. He lifted his head a fraction of an inch and saw that his captor was looking back at him. "I apologize for striking you but I could not run the risk of having a donor change his mind", the man in the surgeon's outfit said. "What do you mean a donor?" "And just who in the hell are you?" Richard asked the man. He replied "I plan to take the heart your wife, pardon me, ex-wife so graciously donated to my business. You see I sell organs for a living, oh and you can just call me doc". Richard began screaming in earnest, he screamed until his throat was completely raw. When he quietened down, the doc leaned forward with a scalpel and before Richard could even brace himself he felt a long cut go right down the middle of his body. At first he felt nothing then the pain struck with blinding ferocity. Dark lines began swimming across his vision and before he could completely fade into unconciousness he felt a pair of forceps pull his chest apart and a hand groping for his heart. As Richard Johnson lay dying, the doctor leaned over him and said "your going to make me a moderately wealthy man, I'll need to thank your ex-wife and gardener for putting you on my "donors list".

READER'S REVIEWS (4)
DISCLAIMER: STORYMANIA DOES NOT PROVIDE AND IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR REVIEWS. ALL REVIEWS ARE PROVIDED BY NON-ASSOCIATED VISITORS, REGARDLESS OF THE WAY THEY CALL THEMSELVES.

"This one reminds me of those old horror movies & the basements or dungeons. Maybe a Boris Karloff flick. He was a great actor." -- barf.
"this will be my final review of your work. I've seen enough. I offer the same sentiments posted in my review of "Mail," another of your feeble offerings. The story line seems like it was "cut" and "pasted" from a B- movie alluded to by Barfield in his review. Spattered blood, knives, scapels, and body parts cannot save a story which is totally predictable and weakly narrated - the product of an immature writer who needs help in all facets of writing. To improve, you must first come to grips with you deficiencies. If you don't know what they are, I suggest you stick to video games. If you're going to copy something or somebody, why not read some quality short stories by real accomplished writers. You may not have heard of many of the great ones, but I'd sure as hell try to find out who they are(were)if I were you. That would be a start. I hate to apologize for being so impatient with young people - so I won't. " -- Richard.
"An asshole who uses big words is still an asshole." -- emory , georgia, usa.
"Very good Emory, You've proven you know how to spell asshole. You ought to consider it for your middle name. Funny how many great writers were known to use big words occasionally. So long, junior. " -- Richard.
