Return Mail(Mail Part 2) Emory L Griffin
It had been the thirteenth letter he had written. The thought of the man's pitiful attempt at yelling for help still brought a smile to his face. He walked to his desk to compose yet another letter to yet another unfortunate victim. As he made his way through the house to the desk he caught a glimpse of something that stopped his heart and had him turning back toward his front door to run out. Before he had so much as taken a step, a woman stepped out of his pantry with a gun pointed directly at him. She wordlessly pointed at his desk, indicating she wanted him to read the letter. Seeing no other alternative, he turned and picked up the letter and began to read aloud.
"Hello,
I just wanted to write you this little letter to explain how your evening will go. You may recall a man who was murdered in the neighborhood next to this one. A man who had never wronged anyone and who also happened to be my very loved husband was murdered in cold blood in his own kitchen. He received a letter much like the one you are reading now. How ironic it is that your death will be brought on by what you jokingly called my peashooter. He was my husband, you bastard, and I loved him very much. I hope you burn in the lakes of hell for what you have taken from me.
Sincerely,
your killer.
As he said the last words, he heard a loud bang and felt a searing, burning, in his skull. As death threatened to overcome him, the woman leaned down and said in a cold, deliberate voice, "it's extremely personal and it was a lot of fun". As she walked off she turned and said, "oh and I believe it was I that enjoyed your company". As she closed his front door, death swiftly took him away.
