Moving In Emory L Griffin
The house was rather old, yet like most old houses it was built to last. F.S.U had been using it as on-campus housing for a while, but shuddered at the thought of anyone finding out the history behind it. It was once the place two female victims escaped from Ted Bundy, however two more weren't as lucky and met their ends at the house.
It was this morbid history that drew Reginald Jones to the house. He had done some extensive research on the house, before he got put away that is. He wouldn't have got put away at all if they damned woman hadn't been yelling her head off, however like they told him in therapy the past is the past. Reginald considered himself a legend, in his mind he was ranked up there with his heroes, Bundy being one of them. He believed he deserved to be recognized by the media and to go down in history with his heroes. He also believed he knew just the way to do this, and the house played an integral part of his plan.
Best friends, Annie and Pam, were giggling loudly as they carried Annie's things into the house.Later that night, as she was just beginning to drift off to sleep she heard a light tapping noise coming from across the kitchen. She continued to hear these noises night after night. Finally, after gathering her courage, she spoke to Pam about the noises. Pam said she had never heard any such noises, however she did go on to tell Annie about the history of the house.
Reginald sat in the pantry, that never got used by Pam or Annie, listening to the girls as Annie packed her things. He laughed to himself as Annie exclaimed loudly that she was moving to a house with no history and no crazy men. He had been waiting for this opportunity, finally the one broad was alone and he would continue to make noises until he drew her to the pantry door and made his move. He wanted to be like his idol Bundy, yet he didn't plan to let his victim escape.
It was the third night in a row that Pam had been awakened by noises and she was damned sick of it. She climbed out of bed to go investigate the source of the noises and as she did this she recalled Annie's fears of the noises. She brushed away her worries, letting her irritation get the better of her, and continued to make her way to the kitchen. As she stepped into the kitchen the noises began increasing in volume, she noticed that they seemed to be coming from the pantry. As her hand closed over the knob of the pantry door she fought a strong impulse to just flee. She opened the door and looked into the sunken waxy, face of Reginald Jones. He lunged forward and Pam barely caught the flash of moonlight off the blade he sank to the hilt into her throat, and continued to violently tear at her body with the butcher knife.
That night Reginald Jones only had half of his life's dream come true. He added to the morbid past of the house's history which is what he wanted. He did not, however, receive any of the fame he sought after. Pam had an obituary in the paper and will always be missed by her family. A large tsunami had struck in Asia the day that Reginald Jones was supposed to be on the front page and editors at the paper decided not to run his story.
