I cannot exactly recall when I first came to know you. Acquaintances, the endless exchange of hellos and cordial words are all I remember. Once in a while, these thing cross my mind. They move me and for some reason, I tend to be emotional during these moments. You were all this and that nothings perfect but you were close. It feels warm to think of you amidst idleness all those things you gave in kindness, and all those things you took in spite. You were everybodys brow-soother; your coolness fills the air the moment you step in. Everyone seems to be glad to be in the places you were in, to have a piece of what you have, and to have a glimpse of you even from afar. You were like the only daffodil in the grassland. You breathed in adorations day and night given to you by your avid admirers. How I wished I was in your shoes. But what am I next to you? Im merely one of the many wretches in this world. I dawdle in empty halls, sit on dust piles Im way far beyond being productive. I do look up to you. But to tell you the truth, though its not as if youd care, my focus shifts to that person sitting in that corner, loafing, whos only sign of energy are her confined movements. She plans to take her claims someday with her observant eyes to speak for her.
