The cold air cooled my skin as I got out of my momís car to start a whole new beginning. I could feel my heart pounding in my throat and my palms starting to sweat. I want to turn around and jump back into the car and go home. But I couldnít. I walk on thinking, what will they think of me? Will they be nice? And will they pick on us like Iíve heard? I was scared to death of what was about to come. I finally arrive at the enormous red doors as the butterflies flew into my stomach. I thought I was going to be sick.
As I walk in the smell of baking cookies and todayís lunch filled my nose. I walk down the halls feeling like everyoneís eyes were watching my every move. They didnít have to say anything for me to know they didnít like me. I feel like an unwanted ant marching through the picnickers lunch just waiting to be squished. But as I start to look around I notice that no one even notices me, I was invisible and I was glad.
I start to wonder if I was ever going to be able to find my way around this unfamiliar place. It seems so big. As I arrive at the last hallway I could start to hear the voices of my friends talking, instantly the butterflies flew away. Itís a relief to finally see familiar faces. As I begin to talk to them I realize that they all had just gone through the same thing I did. Together, I knew we would all make through our first day of high school.
