A New Day
It was a new day but was the same man. Gary was miserable and tired. Tired of his life. He didn’t have a job, his wife was dead for more than a month and he didn’t have any kids. His life was a complete disaster and as a matter of fact, he was not living, he was just surviving. He was walking down the lonely road early in the morning and saw the birds, the trees, the pond and all the things that he used to see every day. But there was something different now. A month ago these things used to cheer him up. But now they don’t have any effect on him. He was going along the road and he could not see a single soul on the road. After all it was 4 o’clock in morning. He was remembering his old days, happy days. Liz, his wife was with him and she was about to have a child. Life was more beautiful than ever and he was happier than ever. After all, he would be a father soon. His wife had gone with a friend of hers for quite a while and he was waiting for her when the phone rang and he got the news that his wife had died in a car accident on the highway. He wished he had not let her go. He wished he could have stopped her by any way possible. But wishing was of no use now. His wife was dead and he couldn’t do anything about it now. A week later he went to his job and got the news that the company in which he worked in was bankrupt. It was not so long ago when he had a beautiful wife, a nice job and a secure future. But now he had nothing. Now he was lonely and he would have preferred to die than to live such a life. After all there was nothing worth living for him. But he continued to live thinking that tomorrow would be a new day…
