Pure Is Love

I breathed in then out, slow and soft to the beat of my heart. It was hard I knew, but it was life. Kite gazed up at me; his bright green eyes were slowly dulling. I stifled a sob. He whispered to me his voice barely heard. ‘Kal, I want you to know I will always love you.’ His breathing shallowed; those beautiful wild green eyes were closing. I whispered in return ‘as I will forever love you kite, through life and death’ No more breath came from kite’s lips. I knew he was gone. Now I cried. Everything that had happened in the past year spilt out. All the sorrow, fear and anger. It was all my fault. A year ago kite was alive, a year ago there was peace.
Two figures walked through the soft sand, the waves gently lapping at their feet. Two children. One of fire and one of moonlight. A girl, eyes bluer than the sky her hair golden like the sand. The boy had brown hair like forest trees and eyes like fresh green grass. They walked lightly; soon the footprints following them were gone. The boy laughed suddenly ‘Kal what’s wrong with you? You look like you’ve seen a ghost!’ Kal frowned ‘haha very funny not! Kite? Did we have to finish that magic choice report thing by today?’ ‘Yes. Why?’ kite smiled knowingly. Kal rushed ‘coz I totally forgot and Mrs Casle will kill me if I have forgotten again!’ kite walked quickly a few steps ahead then mocked ‘hmm I think I’ll just leave you to deal with her yourself!’ then he stuck out his tongue at her and ran off. Kal stared dumbstruck at him then shouted ‘I'm gonna hurt you kite then take your work!’ she sprinted off after him. The water splashed behind her and the sun was beginning to set. Then kite fell to the ground laughing ‘ok! ok! I give up! Ill help you!’ kal smirked ‘so I win again ey? well not surprising as you just cant resist my charm!’ kite rolled his eyes then pulled kal down beside him. He pointed out to the horizon, ‘look at the sunset kal, its like nothing exists except you, me and the sun’ he smiled warmly at her. Kal blushed; he was just messing with her she thought. Kal frowned ‘so are you gonna help me with my homework or not?’
