ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
On April 2, 1939 on a cold, rainy night near Burton's Mill in the southwestern part of Arkansas I drew my first breath. I was almost an April Fool's child and spent most of my life attempting to live up to that dubious namesake. The USAF was my home for a few years following graduation, after that traveled this great land and saw much because I suppose I was born under the sign of the Ramblin' Man. Worked many years as a linotype operator, and many more as cook on oil platforms, drilling rigs and boats in the Gulf of Mexico. I settled down finally in Cajun Country with my beautiful wife Dottie and I'm as happy as a fat tick on a hound. I have always read novels. Something inside me kept saying that I could write as well as a lot of the authors I was reading. About 14 years ago I set out to do just that. I have four completed, but as yet, unpublished novels, short stories, and a hodgepodge of poems to my credit. [March 2004]
