FADE IN:
Two young girls are walking down the streets of manhattan at 2 a.m. One of them is covered in a shawl and the other is in a black coat. Its Saturday night and the street is still alive with groups of people walking in and out of bars and clubs. A white Limo passes the two girls. One of them looks at it with interest.
CELESTE
Who do you think was in that limo. What
if it was someone famous like Madonna or
even brad pitt!!!!!
She laughs at herself.
AMANDA
Yeah its prbably an 80 year old man
gettin a blow job from a 20 year old.
Celeste laughs even loder.But Amanda remains silent.
CELESTE
You are hilarious amanda. But u seem
kind of depressed. Is everything Ok.
AMANDA
Its just that Ive been so busy with
work that I havent even had time for
a good fuck..I feel like Im trapped in
a well which is endless and pitch dark.
I am so bored with my life!!
CELESTE
I know what you mean. I went through
that crisis 3 years ago.Thats why I
finally quit my job and became a painter.
AMANDA
yeah...an impoverished one.
CELESTE
Well atleat I live my life for the moment.
I mean the world could end tomorrow. I feel
that life is about taking chances.
Their conversation is interrupted by the screeching Halt of a car just before them. They look up to see the white limo straight ahead cutting their path. The window rools down and a man shouts at them.
MAN
Hey girls...Come on wanna go for a ride???
There seem to be 2 men in the car and it reaks of weed. The two girls look at each other trying to decide what to do.
AMANDA
This seems like a sign of sorts. Here
you were talking about taking chances and now
heres mine to do something wild and stupid.
Im going.
CELESTE
I think Im going to just walk home. Im
not so sure about this.
AMANDA
Ok...Ill see you later. Wish me luck.
She turns and runs towards the limo. She gets in and as the limo speeds away she waves back at celeste.
INT. OF A LIMO
Amanda looks arouns and then turns to look at the dark haired guy next to her.
AMANDA.
This is really nice.
So what are you guys anyways?
Rockstars?
She smiles.
CUT TO CELESTE: who is walking down one of the streets alone.
A handsome dark haired man smiles at her.
MAN
Beautiful night isnt it?
They walk by each other. Celeste turns around to say something but the man was walking away. She stands there shaking her head at his back and smiling for a second before she turns to start walking. But she cant resist looking backone more time. The dark haired man was standing a few feet away looking at her too. They both walk towards each other.
CUT TO AMANDA:
She is standing half out of the limo through the open glass overhead. She is dancing and having fun. She sits down and gulps in another glass of champagne.She raises her glass and smiles at the men.
AMANDA
This is life!!
The men grin.
BLONDE MAN
So would yoube interested in some
of this.
He shows her a small plastic bag with white powder. Amanda shakes her head.
AMANDA
No im not into it.....but hey I would
love another glass of champagne.
She licks her lips,puts an arm around the dark haired man and kisses him seductively.
CUT TO CELESTE:
She is kissing the dark haired man on the street.
CUT TO AMANDA:
She is dancing and kissing the blonde.
CUT TO CELESTE
Celeste and the man are talking and eating in a restaurnt.
CUTS BACK AND FORTH: a quick series of shots of CELESTE falling in love with the man she just met and AMANDA having the time of her life.
CUT TO CELESTE
She is standing outside her house with the dark haired man.She is looking into his eyes.
CELESTE
would u like to come in ?
She looks at him and smiles.
MAN
Yes.
They walk in the door together.
CUT TO AMANDA:
She gets out of the limo. She is unsteady on her feet but manages.
The limo speeds away and amanda walks towards her apartment.
CUTS TO CELESTE: only her face close up when she is lying in bed.
She is looking at the ceiling in the darkness. CLOSE UP OF HER EYES.
CUTS TO AMANDA:
She is washing her face in the bathroom sink and she catches a glimpse of her face in the mirror.CLOSE UPOF HER EYES.
REWIND THE ENTIRE FRAME FROM THAT MOMENT TO THE MOMENT THE LIMO SCREECHES AT A HALT BEFORE THEM...................................
The window rools down and a man shouts at them.
MAN
hey girls....Come on wanna go for a ride?
There seem to be 2 men in the car and it reaks of weed.
The two girls look at each other trying to decide what to do.
CELESTE
Why not???like I just said. Isnt life
all about chances?
AMANDA
Probably..but I have a bad feeling
about this. I rather not.
CELESTE
Suit yourself.
She walks towards the limo and gets in. AS it speeds away she waves back at Amanda.
CELESTE shouts
You are going to regret this!!
Amanda shakes her head as she stands alone on the pavement.
INT. OF LIMO.
Celeste looks at the two guys and smile s at them.
CELESTE
This is a beautiful car.
The dark haired man lifts his glass of champagne.
THE DARK HAIRED MAN
Well you are a beautiful woman.
They smile at each other.
CUT TO AMANDA:
She is walking down a lonely street towards her apartment alone.
She is a little scared and is walking quickly and at intervals glancing behind her.Suddenly she bumps into someone.
She looks up to find a man with dark eyes looking intensely at her.
MAN
what is a beautiful woman like you
doing walkin down such a dangerous
neighbourhood at this time of the night.
Amanda smiles at him nervously.
CUT TO CELESTE:
She is having the time of her life drinking champagne and singing her favourite song. The dark haired man rubs his hand up her thigh.
BLONDE MAN.
So are you having fun.
Celeste kisses him.
CELESTE
What do you think?
Man laughs.
BLONDE MAN
Would you be interested in this?
He shows her a small plastic bad of white powder.
CELESTE.
Sure.
She takes some of it and snortes it.
CUT TO AMANDA.
MAN
So how about a kiss maam.
He grabs at her. Amanda screams and claws at him.
MAN
You bitch. How dare you...
HE slaps her hard and the purse she held in her hand falls to the ground. PAN TO PURSE ON GROUND. Visible Shadows of two figures struggling.
CUT TO CELESTE:
She doesnt look good. Her face is pale.The blonde man is kissing her neck. She pushes him away.
CELESTE
I am not feeling so good.
BLONDE MAN
Whats wrong with her.
Celeste starts choking.Her face is white and she starts foaming at the mouth.
DARK HAIRED MAN
She is reacting to the coke.
BLONDE MAN
Shit...
CUT TO AMANDA:
Focus on a dark puddle of blood on the ground. Pans to the legs and finally the face of amanda. Her eyes are open but lifeless.
CUT TO CELESTE:
Close up of the bolnd mans face.
BLONDE MAN
fuck mike! What are we going
to do now!
DARK HAIRED MAN
How the hell would I know.
CAMERA PANS to the dead body of Celeste. ZOOM IN ON HER EYES.
ZOOM OUT OF HER EYES. She is lying in bed next to her lover. She finally turns and shuts her eyes.
CUT TO AMANDA:
CLOSE UP of her eyes looking in the mirror. Zoom out of her eyes for a close up of her face.
She smiles.
FADE OUT.
