Guilty Until Proven Innocent L Diamonds
He's got blood dripping from the palm of his hands
can't tell if it's his own or another mans
and after all this he's ready to depart
cause he finally got the peace in his heart.
He ain't got a conscience, he ain't got no guilt
No second thoughts, it was his own free will
He thinks he ain't a monster, though another mans dead
but he swore to the courts that it just wasn't him
He was selfish and took things for his own
he used her like she was a toy, no respect at all
he thinks they're wrong, just an educated guess
but the evidence is on the table and her face is a mess
when he was young he criticized a man that raised his hand
to a woman, defenseless, he hated to call him Dad
Now he's making him look like a perfect saint
cause she's lying in the morgue and his innocence is faked.
He told her loved her, every day.
He wasn't like the others she would always say
but the drugs got to him, and one day he turned
and found another woman but didn't tell her
the useless paranoia that sparked the ideas
dragged him to a conclusion she was worse than he was
accused her of cheating and made a demand
backed her into a corner and he raised his hand
It felt like nothing she had ever felt before
She thought it would never end, she didn't want this anymore
That was the first time she felt what it was like
to be treated worse than an animal with no end in sight
The nights continued, but they kept getting worse
He said he could kill her as he screamed and cursed
It came to a night where the neighbors heard
They brushed it off as just words.
He said he was sorry, but life had to go on,
this abuse was all he knew, the control switch was off
He grew up with it, he called hate his home
but she had a loving family and they miss her now
It got to a point where it was 24/7,
he beat her, raped her and then she got pregnant
She did her best every day to try and hide her plans
till he noticed her belly and took the matter into his own hands
Another beating, another day
but this was the only time she tried to run away
Her face, bloody and bruising,
he knew it stood out, people would start asking
She finally got away that day,
but she was unrecognizable, her face had changed
She knew just then what she had to do
and the rest is history I wish I knew
Lights, sirens, when they found her dead
he said he hadn't seen her since she left
he wasn't capable of murder, that's what he said
but the neighbors heard him say he wished she was dead
She planned it out right, how we'll never know
but he's behind the glass and the curtain is raised to show
how pathetic he is, waiting to die
his last words? I'm remorseful, but I won't apologize.
