THE AUTHOR
Aged 12, I love reading and writing. I enjoyed Little Women, Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea, The Shakespeare Secret (called Interred with the Bones in the US), The Professor and False Impression. I just entered secondary school. [October 2009]
AUTHOR'S OTHER TITLES (11) Dead On Arrival (Poetry) Nonsense, but a pleasure to read because of the nice rhymes. No idea why it disappeared last time. There are lots of dreams, flashbacks and thoughts al... The Branches Of The Palm Abracadabra
Below the arm,
Below the forearm,
Is the palm.
And from the palm,
Branching out from the palm,
Is the five fingers, lying, ever so calm.
How much they had served,
When their owner was alive!
When he had been born,
By his mother, who had him born,
His delicate fingers had done none but to grasp.
Grasp his mother’s hand!
The beautiful little hand!
And between the fingers, the motherly love was clasped.
How much they had served,
When their owner was alive!
He was three,
A few days above three,
And the ten branches suffered a lot.
If only he been more careful,
Just a bit more careful,
Oh, how that water was hot!
How much they had served,
When their owner was alive!
He was nine,
His heart says nine,
And the branches had craved for death.
For they felt bitter,
Sorrowful and bitter,
An emotion so unbearable that they wished to cease to breathe.
How much they had served,
When their owner was alive!
When he was thirteen,
He reached out the window.
‘I shall face death.
'Tis the end of my sorrows.
And he forced himself out,
As if he was escaping from gaol.
‘I shall be gone,
Myself I must kill!’
The loyal fingers waited,
And gripped onto the window frame,
Till the soul commanded,
‘Free me from Swaim!’
Lo!
How much they had served,
When their owner was alive!
They had been unfortunate.
They were neglected by Good Fate.
But they were not isolate!
Look around. Do you not see?
The millions of fingers neglected by thee.
