“Reasons of Abuse”
Once I came into this world
An infant child born unto you
As I was placed into your arms
They say the sky outside turned blue
But from that day forward
Life (for me) would never be the same
Cause all I ever got from you
Was nothing but heartache and pain
Along with nightmare’s and memories
That would rust a child’s heart
And everything you’ve ever said to me
Designed to strictly tare me apart
And at that young and tender age
I admit back then I was weak
But as I grew anger fed my rage
Only then did I begin to seek
Reason’s for years of abuse
And answers only you could know
Destined not to become like you
Though you tried to infect my soul
Thankfully I was always surrounded
With hearts touched by faith themselves
While strong family ties kept me grounded
Unconditional love fueled mental health
Though I’d been to hell and back
And With my back against the wall
Down and out I promised that
I would not allow myself to fall
So through rough and lonely times
When hate rises to consume
Searching life for peace of mind
Only to avoid an early tomb
I fought my way back from the dead
Before anger had a chance to breed
Making choices that (for me) would instead
Only allow me to succeed
So With feeling’s of resentment fleeting
Memories transcend all chance of truce
As time heals emotional wounds once bleeding
What’s left are excuses for reasons of abuse!
