“INTO UNCONSCIOUSNESS”
I fell asleep inside your arms
Staring up and at your face
With my head upon your heart
As I listened to it race,
You held me close
And kept me warm
You held me tight
And kept me safe;
All the while I was
Tucked away in your embrace
Nestled deep beneath your gaze
Drifting fast asleep and in a daze,
Oh how I wish that I could stay
Forever locked inside your arms this way;
Floating into unconsciousness together!
I saw your smile as I slipped
Into unconsciousness and slept
With outlined visions of your face
So much like an Angel in its place,
With dreams of fantasies well spent
Of fairytale weddings I dreamt
With you standing at my side
As first a friend and then a bride;
With one promise made to you
In sickness and in health I do
So as I place upon your hand
This ring, which states I am your man,
That even in death when we must part
You’ll be the one, who owns my heart,
Floating into unconsciousness forever!
