Nothing Is Forever
Mike Piotrowski
The wind blows gently across the emerald fields of green,
Caressing the fragile blades of grass with its subtle touch,
The sun is spilling its golden sea of light from the heavens above,
Opposing the coolness of the wind with its radiating warmth,
The intoxicating scent of blooming flowers saturate the air with its lingering perfume of seduction,
In these fields of euphoria, lays a female figure covered by nothing but the pedals of silky red roses in a never-ending sea of green grass,
Stunningly her hair resembled the dark red color of the rose pedals, flowing and intermingling with the swarm of redness,
Pale was her skin, making her piercing green eyes seem like sparkling gems in a canvas of whiteness which appears so soft and smooth, as if mirroring the clouds above,
Lost in her hypnotic gaze, the bright sparkle of her eyes began to fade, as if tempting or taunting at something that nobody could ever possess,
The wind no longer blew, only the hush remained,
The blades of grass stood frozen, as if all life had been seeped out of its roots,
The darkness slowly started to creep into every little corner of the field, suffocating the suns warm glow,
There was almost complete silence, only the faint beating of her heart could still be heard, slowly fading into the abyss,
Her blue lips slowly murmured a soft, barely audible whisper, “You fool”.
Expressionless, tears started to stream down my face,
Realizing that nothing is forever, including the beauty of love,
