Poem I made for a wedding
When I look behind me,
Back at all the rain,
I remember asking this question,
What, God, have I done to deserve this pain?
Now I see it is not what I have done
It was what I needed to do.
He knew I wasn't ready yet.
He was preparing me for you.
I should have put my faith in Him.
Never again will I have doubt.
I bequeath my trust to you,
For this is what love is supposed to be about.
As I step out of my past into my future,
I see your image as my rainbow,
Illuminating my existence,
Enveloping me with its radiant glow.
My heart and soul sing with joy,
As I abandon the rough draft behind me.
I move forward to embrace my masterpiece,
And I realize you are my eternity.
