ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
First, let me say the most important thing. I would love to hear your comments. Now, a piece about me. It's been a while since I've dusted off the "quill" (or should I say keyboard?). In the meantime, I've found that I am now a Junior in College pursuing a career in psychiatry. I am certainly older and hopefully a bit wiser too. As always, I hope you enjoy my work and that it will jumpstart your inquisitive nature. Read on! [December 2003]

Self Inside Daniel Birnbaum
How Do [I know]
Where is it in me
The walls around crumble
But it stands alone
As they are rebuilt
Flowing off like liquid
JoY, Pain, all the same
Exalting in rot, black,
Like a cork, yet breaking
away from, and staying together
Inside of me and not
Hidden
But visible when I SEe
Why look?
I don't have to
I still do
Drawn to misery
Impossible to let go
Empty and filled with
Emptiness and something else
Love
What is left
