Song O' Times Vaishali Shroff
Song O’ Times
I turned to home one eve in dusk,
When suddenly I smelt a whiff of musk,
Then my favorite song started playing en route,
Lingered on my ears like dulcet flute…
It was the same road,
Seemed I’d lived that moment someday,
Breeze kissed my eyes, my face,
Grass tickled my feet, white roses turned red!
We’d seen each other, said nothing,
But there was music in the air,
That did all the talking;
Eye to eye we walked in gaze,
Hands were cold but hearts ablaze
This ain’t the first time to me it occurred,
Eyes shut, head high, and lips puckered,
Head swingin’ from side to side,
Heart reverberating with a rhythm so high
That was the song we sang when we met,
That was the song we heard when we loved,
That was the song we lived when together,
That was the song o’ times!!!
Some songs cut like a sword,
So deep, the wounds cut yonder,
Some songs speak louder than words,
Some give you life when death seems near!
I’m walking back home with one hand in my jacket,
The other tryin’ to reach a branch that’s bent,
My lips playing tribute to a song that reminds me
Of a moment that breathes,
Of this moment that forever lives…
