Faries On An Ordinary Day
Dg Williford

Fairies on an Ordinary Day

Awoke was I as I saw her - perched on my windowsill

Dew on wings of gossamer with a wink to show much more

Flit Flit Fly Fly what would thou have me do?

From chimney top to mountain top the wings whistled

Do not have me stay in this place, I beg of you

Fluttering Fluttering the first hummingbird of the season

Wish I may Wish I might - knock knock who's there?

No Answer to your call my friend.

Call around fall around in the circle

Will you not show me where I will be?

Wish upon a star a stellar a shooting

What's that you say?

I hear a silent whisper from the rotten tree trunk

Calling Calling

What am I to do?

Shadow upon Shadows the night devours us
noone can see us now

Remember love grows sweeter by the minute

and hate grows longer by the hour

My Fairy I love you
