Why is it that we have to feel this way?
Why are open hearts meant to be broken?
Silent tears are left when you are torn
Silent tears witness of a love that's worn
Are scars what we get for opening up?
Is the inflicted pain never enough?
Silent tears come when you are found wanting
Silent tears come with all the hurting
Can the world really be that cruel?
When maiming, why are you so bold?
Silent tears reflect a past that never was
Silent tears when you cannot find a cause
You care only for what I have to offer
Then when you're done, you toss me away
Silent tears about a future never meant to be
Silent tears are all that you will ever see
I thought you would take me for what I am
Instead, you want me to fit your own needs
Silent tears so that I can try to hold on
Silent tears are left when I have withdrawn
