Sleep

sleep is good, sleep is great
waking up early is what i hate
that soft, comfortable mattress feels so good
oh i'd stay there until noon if i could
that pillow thats resting under my head
is a great addition to my wonderful bed
i could lay there all day and just dream
nights r much shorter than day it seems
why cant i just have my time to sleep
why must i get up when the alarm clock starts to beep?
nobody can tell me what to do
man oh man i really hate school
sleep sleep sleep is what i do best
so what if i slept through that history test
i might not have answered all the questions complete
but i at least i did get some sleep
what can u expect from me
the only time i want to woke up is when i eat or pee
cos it really would be bad if i were never fed
or if i just laid there and pissed in my bed
night turns to day, day turns to night
why cant we americans have any rights?
all i wanna do is sleep until noon
but the sun rises and the alarm clock goes off way too soon :-(
one day i will change this whole school schedule thing
it will be 2:00 pm before the school bell rings
sleep is good, sleep is great
i only wanna be woke up to eat, pee, or mate

"Very cute poem. Much like all americans I wish I could sleep later too. I enjoyed your poem, but I thought it was lacking something. In my opinion you would benefit greatly going to a free verse style of writing. This way you would be able to express your ideas on sleeping more with out ryhming at the end of each sentence. I think you could have painted a better picture if were not forced to use some of the rhyming verbs and nouns." -- Jason Wodzien, Normal, Illinois, United States of America.
