In My Mind
David Daniels

Somewhere in my dreams tonight I'll see you standing there
You'll look at me with a smile saying "Life isn't always fair"

You say you were chosen for his garden
He preciously hand picked you
"God really needed me,That's why I couldn't stay"

It's said to be that angels are sent from up above
I've always had my angel
My grandfather-whose heart was filled with love

Wherever the ocean meets the sky; There will be memories of you
and I
When I look up at that sky so blue; All I see are visions of you

Only days have gone yet I think about you still
Every second that passes through my mind it's like the sound
of a sad song

A Veteran of the war so proud
You never backed down from a fight
Such a gentle Grandfather with a laugh so loud

I cried for you then and I cry for you now.
Though I know you are in a better place now.

Thank you Grandpa
For giving me the memories
for influencing my life
and for letting me carry you to your final resting place.
I miss you, Grandpa, so very much
You gave my life that special touch

You did get angry and you did get mad
But now that you are gone I am nothing but sad

Now that you've left I feel there's nothing more,
than a piece of my heart, that has just torn,
I went to see you I really did try,But I knew that
was going to be our very last good-bye,
I saw your angel she opened my eyes, and ever since then,
I'm not afraid to cry,
I carry your angel here by my side,it is in her,
that I can confide
I know one day we will be together,I will long live for that day
forever and ever

Don't count the years-count the memories. Life is not
measured by the number of breaths we take; but by
the moments that take our breath away!

Grandpa Al:
A wise friend of mine that you were very fond of once
told me even though you lost a grandfather you gained
an angel. I believe in that quote very much and
I know you will always be watching down on me and
our family!
"While there's always a heart in me,you'll always be a part of me."
I miss you so much already;you will always hold a very large
special place in my heart! I love you!

Written by Andrea and dedicated to Grandpa Al

"That was a beauitful poem you wrote about your grandpa Al. I am so proud of you and I'm sure your grandpa was too. You had such a close relationship with him and I know you miss him alot, but all the memories you have will keep him alive in your heart. I love you" -- aunt ann, new york.
"thanks for sharing this poem with us. I'm glad she keeps good memories and that her grandpa did influence her life. The beautiful memories mean the world and a loving family is something that not everyone is able to experience. I found it to be interesting how she refers to the Angel as a "she", when so many refer to Angels as a "he". Anyway, take care, Daniels and remember I'm still your pen friend from Brazil, even though I have been away for a while. Hugs, Dri" -- Dri.
