His Reason
Ken Harbec
The sun never sets
without the memories
of the love I knew,
wanting forever.
Never a breath
until you were there.
I found my soul
wrapped inside,
taking each layer
from within you.
Life has ended
I have made my mistakes,
I wish we could share
the love that was once
the reason
"Time has passed
Love has gone
for a moment
I wish
I had
your arms
to wrap
myself
away from the world"
I smile, knowing
those words hold true.
The little things
we carry around
for decades
surface,
the moment of sleep
will soon come.
The dreams die
with the break of a new day.
