Weather (Poetry) A new outlook on love. [120 words] [Relationships]
January snow fell last night,
ice froze over the street
snow covers the car
and heat blazing inside.
I hear mom talking to you
as you both make plans for the morning.
The phone rings this morning
Mom's saying, "I just talked to him last night!"
She wakes me and tells me about you.
They say the bridge was iced over and so was the street.
"He was bleeding from inside"
and they say you slid into a car.
You fell off your "moped" and hit the car
6:30 this morning.
What were you thinking inside?
Later we found out that you wouldnever see another night.
An angel came to your side on the street.
You're gone, there's nothing they can do for you.
I don't let anyone see how I feel about you.
Mom said I had to drive to the hospital in her car.
We passed the accident on Fulton Street.
Mom crying next to me, 8:30 in the morning.
The rest of the day is a blurr and so was the night.
I was in such shock not sure what to feel inside.
My mom, your sister screaming inside.
Blaming herself for the death of you.
If only she wouldnt have called last night
you wouldn't have slid into that red car.
You wouldn't let your boss pick you up hat morning
so you bundled up, got on your bike and headed down the street.
An angel came to your rescue and met with you on that icey street.
He told you to pray and ask God inside.
Gary Seria, this angel, never knew just what God had planned for him
He didn't even know you
but he jumped out of his car
and his life will always be changed by
that freezing January day and night.
Fulton Street will always have memories of you
January 9, 2004 morning will always hold memories inside.
The driver of the car that hit you, does the memories haunt him at night?
