A Witch
Duke Sekhon

La belle sans mercy hath thee enthrall.
                                         Keats

Oh, she is an angel, she is a witch!
She can slay thee with a smile,
She could beguile with occult trick.

Her hair is raven, the mouth succulent;
Who doth caress her tresses,
Kiss her lips, doth repent.

She is a feigning sorceress, who with her dainty
Imagery casts visions of heavenly bliss
To destroy but with devilish pleasantry.

Take heed! Shun her charm;
Distrust her enchanting smile;
Ignore the come-hither glance, her alluring cajolery.

O beware her net cast sure and wide
To ensnare and enslave
The innocent and the unwise
Who strive to seek her out,
To love and cherish till eternity.

                   Duke the Muse
