Winter To Spring Patrick Collins
Though the winter,
Grows dark and cold
All of your efforts stay bright and bold.
The when the clouds spray wind and rain,
You still keep in all of your pain.
But now the spring rays creep though the trees,
And soon, your soul will be at ease.
Your coat has been your bandage, through all these freezing storms,
Your gloves have been your medicine, through the plague that invades your soul.
Your hood has been the hot soup, poured into your bowl.
Your hands are bitten, and your lips are chapped;
And your head is cold capped.
But soon this evil frost shall end, and you shall feel touch of the sun,
Your bonds shall be cut, and your legs shall freely run.
So prepare to cast off your coat, and slip off your gloves.
Remove your ears from the clutches of their muffs.
All shall be warm, all shall be clear.
Your bites will be gone, and your chaps shall disappear.
Though this season looks to never stop,
soon the first rain shall have its first drop.
