There has to be more.
Tell me there's more!
Than the predictable passage
Of day to night to day to night,
Of dark to light to dark to light.
More than the ritual closing and
Opening of drapes and blinds.
There has to be something more
Than mirrors with fickle reflections
Which I avoid like the plague.
More than coffee spills on
Worn beige carpet...beige walls...
Beige ceilings...beige...
Tell me there's more.
More than counting pennies
And recycling clothes,
And comforting smiles from those
Who can't possibly know
About beige carpet...beige walls...
Beige ceilings...beige...
