We Could Have Ended It Today
Just Jenn

Monday will be here soon
And one more useless weekend will have passed
You in your world
Me in mine
We could have ended it today
But you were too busy to listen
And I didnt care enough to talk

Its Wednesday now
And you have been lost in your work
For three days now
Id leave if I thought you would notice
Id cry if I thought it would help
And Id love to see you walk through the door
If it were anyone but you

Saturday morning cartoons drown out the sound of emptiness
As the kids run around in their worlds of Barbie and Superman
Monday will be here soon
And one more useless weekend will have passed
We could have ended it today
But I was too busy to listen
And you didnt care enough to talk

"Sounds so cold and lonely it that world. Too bad there's no guarantee with leaving, or one with staying. Liked the poem, not the underlying story." -- Just A Guy.
"***good poem---it's sad that this is so true to real life " -- insomniac.
"This is very well written...I like the flow of the days just passing by with nothing accomplished. Sometimes we live like that not doing what we really want, not saying what we should just because it seems like too much work and too much for our minds and hearts to handle. I liked this and look forward to more :)" -- K M.
