If I Could Dream You Here
M Q Walters
As I lie awake tonight,
Longing for your touch.
The warmth of your skin on mine,
To feel that love so much.
To touch it with my fingertips,
To see it in your eyes.
To taste it with my lips,
And portray it in my sighs.
If I could dream you here,
I would love you through this night.
Hold your body ever near,
Feeling the radiance of your light.
I may be here without you,
But I can hold you in my dreams.
And know there is so much to do,
And someday it will be more than dreams.
To watch the sun rise across your face,
To taste the sweetness of your lips.
The distance to disappear without a trace,
As I touch you with my fingertips.
To with everything I am love you,
To give my body, heart and soul.
Realize all my dreams come true,
That only you can make me whole.
Chase away the tears,
Close my eyes and see you here.
Forget about the fears,
Safe when I hold you near.
