ABOUT
THE AUTHOR
To those who've seen my old description, I'm sure you'll be pleased to see a refreshing lack of arrogance. If you missed it, sucks to be you. I'm a free-lance writer and barrista from the Midwest. I'm still trying to get more of my poetry and fiction on here, so be patient. In the meantime, please post reviews; I love reading what you all think. Write me email too, I need new victims.. er... friends. As usual, welcome to my madness, and happy reading. [February 2003]

Faded Edges A J Magy
I lie awake in bed
counting butterflies
in my mind
On the wall in your room
in a house you don't live in
anymore
And count the days
since I held you last
Not a day goes by
Not one without you
on my mind
Not once do you cross my mind
I don't fall in love with you
again
I tumble through the night
Your face before my eyes
and beyond my grasp
Follow your image
where ever it leads
I have traced your features
onto tabletops
everywhere I go
You're there with me
Everytime I retrace you now
it grows a bit fainter
blurs the lines
Between what is you
and what is me
I don't want to forget
I don't ever want to forget
I close my eyes
see you again
Captured stills behind my eyelids
even that's begun to fade
Scares me
to think of a time
I can't remember your smile
God I love your smile
I am
in love with you
I don't ever want to forget

"Reminiscence for a lost love beautifully expressed! Having read "Bodies at Rest" first which can stand alone as it is, was initially interpeted by me in more general universal terms. However this is more specific and brings both pieces together nicely.!!!" -- Monte, USA.
" #1 Title: Excellent. #2 Spelling and grammatical errors: None. #3 Opinion: Clear. #4 Suggestions: None. " -- JA St.George.
"I am fairly new to the site and I enjoy being so addicted to it that I spend my 3rd block class perusing the other authors. I haven't found too many (as of yet-I am, again, fairly new) that I truly enjoy reading. You are definitely one of them. I was surprised and what good rhythm this piece had. Its appearance suggests as well as its title suggests otherwise. My favorite aspect of poetry is the rhythm, the flow, and what I've read of you so far has a unique and easy to become attached to style. I look forward to reading more!" -- Tami Lynn, Evanston, IL, USA.
"*****I loved this, it's really good. It has nice flow and rhythmn. good luck-good writing :)" -- d donely.
"Lovely poem. It's very heart warming.. indeed. A job well done." -- Aarthi Vijayakumar, India.
