THE AUTHOR
I am a 29 year old female. My career lies within the hearts of others. I desire to replace or fulfill a lost hope, a loss of independence by offering them my ear, sharing my compassion and my love. I am a Healthcare Professional and have been taking care of the elderly, the young and those that have been ill, for 10 years. Aside from writing, I play the piano, sing, play the drums and guitar.

The Old Hollow Tree

I wait for thee behind the old hollow tree.
Tis the tree that holds the mark,
where old time lovers reunite their spark.
My mind is flooded with memories once shared,
to dream of new ones, do I dare?
Your vision blinds thy eyes, your voice deafens thy ears...I hear and see only thee.
I lean my head against the old hollow tree,
taking in a long, deep breath as I wait for thee.
My heart races as I anticipate your coming,
I know it will be soon for my heart is pumping.
Each time we spoke, you told me I was "marked",
Until now, I had my doubt about this remark.
For deep inside me, I carry the special gift,
to which no mortal soul could ever uplift.
I will walk with thee, til the end of time,
not for one second, will I leave your side.
Our new journey together is about to begin,
no matter what, my flame for you will never dim.
My eyes wander upwards, I look up into the sky,
the sky is as dark as the black pools in your eyes.
The moon shines so beautiful and wonderfully bright,
offering her love and guidance to all creatures of the night.
I raise my arms to the light she provides,
welcoming her gifts from now til the end of time.
I continue to wait for thee, my back still rests against this old hollow tree.
My heart quickens as I sense your presence before me,
I hold out my arms to welcome thee.
Your eyes twinkle in the darkness of the night,
I see this because the moon offers her light.
You reach out and gently grasp my hand,
a warm, gentle touch like no other man.
You gently pull me away from the old hollow tree,
I willingly follow, let the powers be.
Our fate together is forever sealed,
a journey with you is finally real.
As we walk together hand in hand,
I turn to look at the tree that sturdily stands.
I will never forget the old hollow tree,
For she has offered her goodness unto me.
Tis the tree that hold the mark,
where old time lovers share their spark.
