Withdrawal
Miss E

It's not an addiction,
But it might as well be.
Symptoms are the same
As they were before.

A lump in my throat,
My heart aching,
My mind a theater,
Showing movies featuring you.

Why is it all about you again?
Why do I have to go through
The same vicious cycle,
Wasn't once enough already?

My old habit returned
With a vengeance,
Forcing me to feel
Old emotions.

Regret, pain, sorrow,
Breaking me slowly,
Leaving me hollow
As the sun rises.

I welcome the new day
Wide eyed and teary,
Going over everything
That I said and did.

I guess I never truly healed
If I go through it again.
Back to the beginning
For me it is.

I need to get over you again,
I need to go to war with
My head and my heart,
Fighting the same battle.

I have to get off of you,
Like a junkie in rehab.
And I have to do it
All by myself.
