Miguel crossed the border in the fall of 09
All he owned on his shoulder, all his dreams in his mind
Had to make a little money, had to send it back home
To a wife and two month old girl who were living all alone
Got a job sweeping floors in a factory in San Joauqin
Yeah its a shitty job and the boss is pretty mean
Two months of labor and not much rest
He pays the rent and sends home whats left
Fall faded to winter and the times they grew hard
Boss told Miguel hed have to find another job
Recession the said it wasnt, but the poor man had no clue
Jobs grew scarce and Miguel didnt know what to do
Two weeks later desperate as he can be
Miguel meets a man and takes a job selling crystal methamphetamine
The money started rolling in but not much of it made it home
Every day hed do his deals, every night he would roam
Go out to a little place across the railroad tracks
A dirty beer join called the Amarito Shack
Started messing with a girl whose name was Analene
Miguel didnt know she was married, she wasnt wearing a ring
One night late slipping away from Analenes place
Two bullets catch him in the back and he lies dead in a ditch on his face
Bout the same time in flat in Guadalupe
A woman rocks a crying baby and dreams of her man so far away
