The Long Nothing; Or Sun, Sand & Surf
Jason Roland

The Long Nothing; or Sun, Sand & Surf
surfin' blue sunshine shades
the very epidermis of cool
my nympho-narcotic-nihilistic-necrophiliac
nitro-glycerine surfer babe
rides the boogeyboard of Zeus
as all the Valhallanites play Narcissus on speed.
climax this next wave & I'll give you two tabs
of kewwwwwl.
but if you stupm, jump or die
you get this electric blue flute which I call
Superiority Flu.
I am so down, i can't get up off the floor
& my arms are useless ringlets flailing for more
My Mom bought me this brand-new jeep
which I call Infinity. I call it this because
the girls will do infinitly anything to get in it.
Oh, so original
Oh, so cool
Oh, so privileged
how about you?
2002 low income families can't be wrong
as long as it keeps me on top
I am brand new, new & improved
genuine leather, fake polyester
suburbanite conformist blue.

I Got it Made, Bro
he bought himself everything for X-mas
leaving nothing left for the homeless.
he's been high since he was 5
& can't help but glance in the mirror
everytime it's off to the side of him.
he's so in love with himself & his car
that he's got little room in that spec
ofa thing he calls a heart
he's got his trophy girlfriend up on the shelf
she's so pretty & perfect, she was born
for this role.
he had the fat sucked out of his toes
to give him that extra winning inch (where it counts)
now he stylin' & breathin' like there ain't gonna be
no tomorrow, he's on Sunset & Beach buying new
suits for his reception into the Ghetto Hall of Fame.
He's got blue & black & white & green blood
running through his narcissistic veins.
he's got rap always playing in his car, he feels
in tune with the world this way.
when he listens to Eminem, he feels like he's in
touch with the suffering of the universe as he's
parking his 40,000 dollar car in the garage.
She's been pinching her cheeks for beauty pageants
since she was 4. Her mother gave her a good eating
eating disorder at 7 so she could win the Miss America
finals in Ohio and Glenn. She's got the looks of Britney Spears,
Pamela Anderson and a Barbie Doll. this is what America wants.
It's easy, it's perfect, it's generic and easy to makeover into
whatever sex fantasy you want.
But now Melissa's pregnant again & Brian can't afford an abortion
with his weekly allowance. He'll have to borrow some money
from his grandma and tell her it's for a new golf club.
Melissa tried to lose the baby by throwing herself down a flight
of stairs but still the little fucker persisted on living.
Brian would ask his Dad for the money but Daddy just got
a 5000 dollar paycut from his 100,000 dollars a year.
Momma had to stop buying Gucci and Daddy can't
afford another affair. Brian's best friend Jared, just came out
as a fag. Brian has stopped returning his voice mails. Soon
he'll just go away. Monday, Brian was one minute late for
his job as manager at the GAP, his boss grew angry and gave
him a pink slip to go. he's got stocks in Microsoft & Pepsi
but he doesn't want to tap into those.
He plans on being comfortable someday, he wants a family,
babies,a wife and a mistress but just not yet.
He's still got a few more years of using random women left
in him. ( he is every male's fantasy)
Melissa understands his hesitation, after all she just
got over that coke habit of hers & isn't ready to stop
smoking or shooting heroin just yet.
A fresh, pink baby would spoil their plans.
A fresh, pink baby would take away their freedom.
A fresh, pink baby just might make them human.

Invisible
if i was invisible, i'd be so free
but i'm already invisible & i don't feel free
if i was handsome, i'd get all the girls
Oh, gee, i forgot, i don't like girls
if i was beautiful, i'd be quite a sight
but i hate beauty, so is that right?
if life was different, i'd be happy
every day is different but i'm still not happy.

Life
life is a sad convoluted, pathetic montonous
sometimes cool but mostly boring and superficial thing
What the fuck was God thinking?

Britney Spears Is A Whore
they say gentlemen prefer blondes
especially the vacuous ones.
They like the ones without a thought
in their pretty little heads.
Guys that are handsome, like to kiss
them and then make them dead.
They say gentlemen like a girl with
flowers in her hair but if the girl is buried
how much fun can she be in bed?
I wish i was superficial, i wish i was some
dumb stupid whore, then they would like me
and i wouldn't have to ask for anything more.

My Suicide
i tried to advertize for my suicide
on the covers of magazines
I tried to advertize my suicide
on the sides of buses and in coffeeshops &
college campuses but no one cared
because everyone has already commited suicide
and in one way or another is already dead.

Missionary Position
i am so lost on you
something dark has taken over my mind
every heartbeat bears your name
i feel so anxious it brings me to shame...
Damon, can't you feel me? can't you see i'm breaking?
Damon, can you heal me? Can you feel my pain?
sometimes i think i might suffocate on my desire
then i realize that i've always lived with it...
when i am lost and in need of survival
i take out your picture and i make love to it.
I buy lots of things with credit cards...
when the bills come, i just throw them up...
don't you see you're my only reason for living?
if you weren't my obsession, i wouldn't be breathin'
so when i feel so lost, i take out your picture....
i kiss and make sweet love to it....
and when i've lost myself enough, i know i've found a way to go on......
please beg me for submission....
you know your efforts will always be heeded...
for i am your slave to passion. every breathe i take has your name on it.
(so if you are reading this, please seal with some blood & your kiss)
i know i could never be yours...
i'd be better off suicidal...
because my love is fire....
it can heal, it can touch but it always destroys....

Whatever
naked girls in a mini-van
i don't care, it doesn't really phaze me
naked boys on an airplane wing
i wish it could excite but i've lost my will to desire
naked women on a semi-truck
they are flashing all the truckers but none of them can see
naked men on a television set
i wish this was real but these orgasms aren't for me.
