AUTHOR
Vianne-Marie Fortier
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Sixteen.
Growing up too fast.
Poetry in motion, verses flying past her on the highway.
And she breathes in the air.
She can smell the perfume of decaying unpublished literature.
To her, it reminds her of home
And the Pennsylvania sunshine.
[June 2004]

Thud
Vianne-Marie Fortier

There is a soft
Cry of thunder and
The watery thud of
His heartbeat.
The sky becomes a
Neon ballroom of
Turquiose and electric yellow.
The thud of his
Heart is heard against
My cheek.
There is a soft
Cry of thunder
And the winds
hoarsely roar.
A soft cry of thunder
Beats against the roof
Like the thud of
his heart.
