The Light Shines Through
Richard Dean Bearskin

The days are slowly getting better
Hour after hour, letter after letter
Letters in my mind to rid the pain
Using them for leverage like a cane

Picking up the pieces to my shattered heart
The cold days are over my life's about to start
No sadness nor darkness, just smile after smile
Im great now, no more denial

Denied the things that had been said
All were true, leaving me losing my head
I lost my head, but now its been found
And soon happiness will come around

No more darkness, the suns coming in
It's as if my life before had never been
I was slown down by a speed bump
I've finally been lifted out of this dump

Lifted like a drug that takes me higher
I'm bidding this life to the highest buyer
I had given her all my trust
Which ended up a huge bust

What doesnt break you, can only make you stronger
Sad i will be no longer
As a man i am anew
To her i say FUCK YOU

My life is soon to be a blast
As i leave her in the past
I leave her happy as can be
I'm a stronger man, cant you see

I withstood the pain, refused to break
I wont shatter at her being fake
Told mw bullshit,lies after lies
So i now use poetry as my disguise
