The Day L Went To Catch As Lion
Saranjit Bhambra
remember when l went to an animal park.,
l remember the heat,
and the skipping rope,
l used to play around on the grass.,
until l caught the eye of the lion,
lazing in the heat,
amongst the high grass and trees.,
l watched...as l twisted the rope
around my hand....
his eyes were on me as he stood up..
how l wanted to catch him....
with this rope of mine
but l was releived to have that
safe barrier between us as he came close......
and roared.
