God Is Not The Enemy!
Reverend Dr Lance

Many people are used to getting up in the morning, going about their business and encountering negative situations along the way as their day progresses. They ponder on this a bit and if they suddenly fall ill, they quickly find an 'out' by exclaiming "How could God allow this to happen to me?!". We all know these people, they might be our neighbors, business partners, casual friends or even strangers. For this often used phrase seems to know no boundaries. The feeling that God somehow is responsible for your illness is seated upon irresponsible thinking. But one must also remember that God would not send you a serpent to eat for food, and if such were to be the case, you may have well done something to bring that about on *yourself*!

And how about the world crises situations where hundreds of people are being destroyed daily in different areas and by different means. We pause to think about this and then once again exclaim "How could God allow this to happen?!". What the thinker has not paused to consider is his or her lack of acceptance of the fact that when each person is born, God gives them Free Will choice. This Free Will allows for growth in many areas of life but also teaches harsh lessons along the way. Life was not meant to be a paradise without some degree of human suffering. Suffering is an important part of growth. Remember how Jesus Christ suffered on the cross for *our* sins? He Came To Save Mankind! But as far as we're concerned, the *degree* of our individual suffering is only limited or accelerated by our own thinking. For if life was to be based upon a perfect paradise situation, mankind would never grow! Mankind would never learn its important lessons that aid in that growth and it would see no light at the end of the tunnel.

The mark of progressive civilization is predicated by its own value and worth as well as sacrifice. Truly, one cannot hope to cross the road simply by thinking about it or wishing for it to happen. One must take the first step to accomplish that goal. Yes, there are risks that must be assessed either beforehand or along the way but in order to get to the other side, one must place one foot in front of the other and proceed carefully and with guidance. Life is based upon many ideals as well as risks. But you sometimes learn to take them or do without. If you do without, you once again blame God for not supplying you with that which you feel you are deserving of. This is a vicious cycle for mankind yet mankind must be aware of their future potential by taking a few safe risks.

Just think of where we would be right now if the Wright Brothers had not invented the airplane or Robert Fulton, the steamboat or Henry Ford, the car. There are many other examples. These wonderful and tenacious people kept a plan in mind and even though they may not have succeeded at their very first try, they nevertheless tried once again and if they initially felt bad with the results of their primary try, when *success* finally came, there must have obviously been that feeling of overall accomplishment and great satisfaction and rightfully so!

This brings us to a different issue. There are warmongers with hate instilled in the very core of their being who feel that their fate, if it goes negative, is due to Divine Retribution. In example after example, we see people disenfranchising themselves from their responsibility to own up to their *own* misgivings and shortcomings and proceeding instead to blame God for their mistakes in life. But friend, I submit to you - God Is Not the Enemy! God is there *For* you! Choose to believe or not believe, my friends, God is there to Help you! Respectfully, you should not choose to blame Him for whatever goes wrong in your life from now on. Rather than falsely admit that one is a saint (unless they truly are), accept the fact that one is a sinner and one who is not exempt from temptation and lessons to be learned which are part of life but if one causes any negative feelings or emotions upon another, as a product of their own *individual* Free Will doing, they should come with contrite heart and in true repentance for having done so as those acts are governed by the Law Of Cause and Effect or "What Ye Sow That Shall Ye Also Reap".

A great opportunity exists to show God how humble you can be by gracefully accepting the challenges of life, the trials and tribulations, and by saying "I Will Accept the Fruits That My Seeds Have Borne Unto Me O, Lord! Thank you, Father, I Praise You for Helping Me in My Time of Need!". Remember, they are *your* doings as a product of your own Free Will!

"It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness." LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23 (KJV)

May God richly bless each and every *one* of you and be with you in your darkest hour as well as in The Light-filled days ahead for you! Remember to take it very personally when you hear and come to understand that GOD LOVES **YOU**!

"An interesting piece, i like the angle that you have taken and it seems to be a fair commentary, At least i have finally met someone one this site that is actually educated in the doctine of not just Christianity but also spirituality, an important facet to one who preaches. As most that i have discussed things with are to recalcitrant in their views and their dispositions are seldom touched or even chiseled through to! If you would like to continue this exchange please chuck me a line at [email protected]. Cheers mate. " -- Hugh, Newcastle, Australia.
"Hello! Nice message and very encouraging! can I put your message on my blog? I will put your name and your link (this link) on my blog. Thx" -- Alice, Jakarta, Indonesia.
