I grew up in a military family. My dad was in the Army for 20 years. We lived in many places, even S. Korea for 5 years but it wasnt until my dad got out of the army that I was worried. Then the 9-11 attacks change the lives of many Americans.

When I went to school on 9-11, the teacher had the news on. We didnt do anything until the news program ended. My dad had a meeting at the Pentagon that morning. My grandpa called my mom and said too turn on Fox news and call my dad. My mom was worried. My grandpa didnt know my dad wasnt home. Then there was an announcement that a planed crashed into the Pentagon. My dad called about an hour after the attacks and that was when we felt relieved.

In May 2003 my dad went to Baghdad, Kuwait, and Bahrain. He and 39 other engineers were fixing the Armys Communications.
He describes the flaming oil wells that wouldnt stop burning, blown up buildings and run down slums. Some of the Soldiers and engineers stayed in Saddams palace. He called us from the palace and brought back pictures. In January 2004 he came home and started to work for designing and making communications for UAVs (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles).

And as the Baby boomers generations remembers what they were doing when John F. Kennedy was shot. My generation should remember what they were doing on 9-11 2001.
