Grandfather's Love
I became a grandfather a little over 2-1/2 years ago to a little girl who we call Ellie.
Her given name is Elizabeth Grace.
From the time she was born I have been on a totally unexpected "magic carpet ride" which I hope never ends.
I have been through two digital cameras and literally thousands of pictures which have chronicled her life from the day she was born.
I could never have imagined the joy she would bring at this stage of my life.
I have raised three sons now ages 20 to 35 and they have made me very proud and continue to reward me with the fact that I know I had some small part in making them what they are today.

But if my sons read this, perhaps they will forgive me for saying that Ellie is now the love of my life.
I have been very fortunate and feel blessed that Ellie's mom and dad have allowed me to be such a big part of Ellie's life and I tell them that all the time.
I know some Grandparent's who don't seem to enjoy grandchildren as much as I do, but to them I can only say I'm sorry. Happines is Ellie saying " hold me gramps".

":) Very sweet write. I'm approaching that age as my daughters are now in college and HS, but have not arrived there yet. If they're anything like my daughters, I can't wait. I expect they'll be even better because when they smell bad, we can always hand them back to mom :). Very nice write. I can tell it is genuine." -- Steven L. Howard.
