House Trailer John C Rivers
Louisiana is in the Southern part of the United States and so I’m from there. I live in a house trailer in the woods and my trailer is a cozy one. I have a satellite TV, a used brown recliner chair, a shelf full of good books, central air, central heat, and a new Maytag washer and dryer. I know this trailer does not kindle impressions of status, but aristrocatic trailer dwellers are obviously not an ostentatious group.
The point I want to make here is that good cheap mobile home is better than the renovated church bus I’d been staying in down by the river for nearly two years. I got myself a used one and it’s the best thing I’ve done with my life as I reflect, laying on my couch, as the thermostat kicks on this Monday afternoon.
The amenities of a mobile home from one point of view are the same as any concrete suburb dwelling give or take a few conveniences. Give up covered parking and the concrete drive and in exchange you get a garden tub and a house that a driver can deliver and set up in an afternoon. In all fairness a manufactured home has the longevity of a chicken house, but if you factor in the cost, all of 6,500 dollars and the fact that a case could be made that it is the heart that is the quintessential fabric of a home. I then think then that one day the manufactured home dwellers of America may be recognized; as an intelligent, resourceful and frugal lot. I for one love my mobile home!

"I'm very happy that you have a place that you can call home. When you think about it there are many people who don't even have that luxury.I am one of the fortunate ones to have a home but I sometimes find the stress of paying the mortgage every month overwhelming. It sounds to me like you aren't dealing with that stress so more power to ya.By the way, you never mentioned if you had cable because if you do then it sounds like your mobile home is a little piece of heaven right here on earth.Best of luck to you." -- David Daniels.
