One the things I love the most are animals that are not insects or slimy amphibians, for example dogs and cats. I have a dog called Rocky. He is a white Labrador, but he is not completely white, his ears and the tip of the tail are golden. I personally think he is a beautiful dog.
I have had Rocky ever since he was two and a half months old. Now he is two years and six months old. But I never actually noticed he grew. People tell me, "Wow, what a big dog!" but for me he is always going to be just a little puppy because that is how I see him, I also always refer to him as my puppy.
I think he is pretty smart. He knows all those dog tricks like: sit, shake, lay, jump and beg. But one of his best qualities is that he LOVES to swim. Every Sunday my parents and I take Rocky up to Rio Pance so he can swim. When he is swimming, he always wants us to throw sticks into the river so he can fetch them. I think it's really cute.
Something weird about my dog is that he sits steady in the car, not like other dogs. My friends tell me their dogs go crazy in the car, jumping from window to window. Rocky like to sit in the front seat, not in the driver's seat of course, and look out the front, as if he want to know where we are going. But I do like that unique characteristic.
We bought Rocky for a very strange reason; it's that I used to have four cats. My parents were getting tired of them so they told me that if I gave away my cats I could get any dog I wanted. I agreed for two reasons. First I have always wanted a dog, and second because I had no choice. We looked in the ads of the newspaper, my dad and I, and we found an ad that said, "white Labrador with yellow ears." I immediately said, "That is the dog I want." That same day we went and bought him.
Three days after buying him, we found out my dog did not have any shots, and had caught a disease, that kills 90% of the dogs after a week. Luckily Rocky was part of the 10% that survive, but we suffered that whole week wondering and hoping Rocky would survive. My family and I are very lucky to have a dog like Rocky. He is a wonderful companion.
