Girls Vs. Boys

“I was a stupid idiot for ever believing that you could ever change your ways”, said Madison to her long-term boyfriend Scott. “See the thing about you that I don’t understand is that you ask a girl out and then you two go out for a year and you learn that she won’t give you any so you cheat on her with her best friend!” “I never cheated on you with Amy. That’s like a sin either way you put it. Why do you think I cheated on you with Amy?” “Well”, Madison thinks back to a couple of days before. She remembers going to her mailbox and finding a manila envelope with no stamp and no return address so she knows it’s from her informant. She opened it and was shocked by it’s contents. They’re in the floor of her room were pictures of Scott and Amy holding hands, kissing, and cuddling. The letter read: I happened to have had my camera when I saw this. I knew you’d like to know so I figured I’d take a few pictures. Looks to me as if your man is seeing your best friend. And even though you don’t know who I am, you ought to know what I’ve been doing these past few years. When I found out that you and Scott had hooked up I was sort of angry. So I thought I would trail Scott since I liked him you know. After a year I thought it was hopeless, he was very loyal. Then this day in the courtyard came and I realized he was a scum ball. Love, Your Informant. “That was when we both realized you were a scum ball.” “But those have to be fakes I have never cheated on you with Amy.” “What about with Jacqueline or with Danielle or Lexy? I have pictures of you with them too. Just you went down a dark alley way before my informant could get your picture with them.” “Jacqueline is just a friend. Danielle is my ex and she wouldn’t let me touch her with anything I own. Lexy is your 10 year old sister.” “Would you allow Danielle to touch you? Jacqueline is not just a friend she’s an ex that still loves you. And Lexy is in love with you too.” Scott turns and starts to walk away but Madison stops him by putting a hand on his shoulder. “It’s over Scott. I’ve put up with it for 3 years and now it’s over.” Madison starts to walk away but Scott stops her. She turns around and he kisses her. “For old times sake.” Madison turns away again but Scott stops her again and then once she turns again Scott’s down on one knee. “What are you doing?” “What does it look like?” Scott says being as nice as he can. “Madison will you marry me?” “I never imagined a relationship ending with a proposal. But for old times sake I will have to decline your offer.” Madison turns and leaves Scott there in the courtyard alone. Three years later while Madison is at college she bumps into a person writing a story. “I’m so sorry,” Madison says looking up. “I’m Madison Jones. I’m not from here, could you possibly direct me in the direction of English lit 112 with Killerman?” “I’m Drew Hadinfield and I’m not from here either but I have Killerman right now too so maybe we could walk to the class together.” “Okay but don’t try anything funny,” Madison said joking. “So are you a freshman here too?” “Yeah but I’ve been living here all summer so I know where all of my classes are. What are your next few classes?” “Hayden, Porbus, and Timidly.” “Is that in that order?” “Yeah. Why?” “Looks like we’re going to be seeing a lot of each other because we have all the same classes.” “What a coincidence.” “Forgive me for asking this but do you have a boyfriend?” “I can’t believe this. I’ve been talking to you for 5 minutes and your already trying to move in on me.” “No not at all.” “Oh, well no I don’t have one. I haven’t had one since I was 16. We broke up because my informant caught him cheating on me with my best friend. But that’s all over with now. What about you? Do you have a significant other stashed away somewhere or back home?” “No I don’t. I haven’t had one in several years because my mothers to protective of her little boy. But then again I can’t blame her because all the girls I ever liked she hated. But that’s my mom.” “Why would she be so cautious of you?” “Maybe because my sister ran off with the preachers son and then a year after she did mom got a call saying that she was dead. Had been for three weeks. And the prime suspect was the preacher’s son. Only he was found 100 miles away 2 weeks later.” “Has it been solved? The case I mean.” “Yeah, but the convict escaped.” “That’s got to suck.” Madison and Drew enter the building and find a seat together near the back. About half way through the class Drew becomes wide-eyed and stiff. Madison scrambles for a pen and piece of paper. Once she finds one she scribbles ‘What?!’ on it. Drew: IT’S HIM! Madison: Who? Drew: My sister’s killer. Madison: Who? Drew: Third row fourth chair Madison: No that’s my ex Scott. Wait what’s he doing here! Drew: That’s got to be him! Madison: What is Scott doing here? Drew: Probably to spy on you. But he’s my sister’s killer. Madison: Are you sure? And I mean positively sure. Drew: I’m just kidding Maddie. Madison: You JERK! Drew: I thought it was funny. You know ha ha. Madison: Your still a jerk! Drew: While we’re on jerks, isn’t he the one that cheated on you? Madison: Yeah with my best friend, his ex’s, and my little sister. Drew: Now the little sister one is just wrong as well as the best friend, but then again so are the ex’s. I know I would never cheat on my girlfriend. I’m a lot better than him. Madison: Is that some kind of come on? Drew: ….. Yes. Is that a problem? Madison: No, just don’t get to attached to it. Drew: Okay. Just before the two of them got up after class had ended, Drew leaned over and gave Madison a kiss on the cheek. Madison couldn’t think. Should she slap him or should she kiss him back. She froze. “Sorry I just couldn’t resist. You’re just to beautiful.” Damn he had a way with words. Madison turned into mush. Before Drew could walk away Madison grabbed him and stood up. Damn he was at least 6’2 and she was only 5’7. “Lean down here.” Madison kissed Drew ever so slightly on the lips. When they parted she smiled. Damn he was a good kisser. She couldn’t believe she was falling for a guy she had just met. Drew leaned down and with a slight smirk said “Can you do that again?” Madison smiled and gave him another kiss except it was a little more passionate. This one lasted for what seemed like forever. It lasted until Professor Killerman said, “Children lets do that in our dorms now and get out of my class.” Madison finished packing her books and Drew walked her back to her dorm room since their next class wasn’t until 2 and it was only 9. “Would you like to come up and talk for awhile?” “No not today, maybe tomorrow.” “Okay,” Madison agreed. They kissed one last time and Madison went up to her room. There to her surprise was Scott. “How have you been Maddie?” “Fine, now get out of my apartment.” “But I’ve been waiting to talk to you for three years. You do know that my offer still stands?” “Well you might as well take it back and ask my thirteen year old sister.” Scott and Madison stare at each other for what seemed like hours until Drew knocked on the door and walked in. “Madison what’s going on?” “Scott was just leaving after he broke into my dorm.” “Who’s this chump?” Scott said with a slight smirk. “Hi I’m Drew Hadinfield.” Scott pulled out a knife and tried to cut Drew’s hand. “Scott don’t do anything stupid.” “Hey Madison I already did something stupid. Right after we broke up I found another girl I liked it’s quite possible I loved her. But no she couldn’t love me. She liked a sissy boy that was so devoted to his daddy and their church. Her name was Sarah, and come to think of it her last name was Hadinfield. She was such a beautiful creature. Her body was perfect. Then one day while I was following her I saw him, Jack, go to her house and make a funny little whistle and out she came. Out she came in a little skirt that barely covered her thighs. That’s when they left town, but I caught up with them about five towns over. I took them away at knifepoint. First I killed Jack and dumped his body 100 miles away from home. Then I had my way with Sarah. I told her that if she didn’t scream then I’d let her live. But the only thing was one night while we were making love she tried to attack me. I ended up killing her in my own defense.” “You couldn’t have been making love to her Scott if you were forcing her to have sex with you. She was my sister and you had to take advantage of a sweet soul like hers.” “Hey Drew, here’s one thing you may not have known about your sister. She slept with every other guy in town. She was a slut and everyone knew it. She was an easy one for everyone. If you didn’t know that then you either didn’t know your sister or you were blind. She even had sex in your bed a few times a month. Your probably wondering why she didn’t get pregnant, it’s called birth control.” “Okay Scott that’s enough. You’ve already hurt Drew and he’s only been here for ten minutes. So you can go and leave us alone.” “Looks like I’m going to have another Sarah Hadinfield only this time her name won’t be known because she won’t all be found.” “Leave Drew alone you don’t even know him.” “But he’s a witness, he has to die first.” At that moment Scott throws the knife and it sticks in the wall just barely to the right of Drew’s head. Madison walks over to Scott and tries to kick him in the groin but he catches her foot and with a swift turn he breaks her ankle. Then Drew tries but Scott grabs his head a breaks his neck. Drew falls to the floor hurt but still alive. “Now Maddie you can either come with me or end up like him.” With another swift kick Madison successfully kicks Scott in the groin and then in the face. She scrambles over to him and breaks his neck just enough to hurt him not killing him. She then scrambles over to her phone and dials 911. When the ambulance gets there she tells them that her ankle is broken and that the other two have broken necks. Another three years goes by and Madison is sitting alone in the courtyard thinking of that fateful day. Scott died because of the neck injury. Madison was not charged for the murder because it was considered self-defense. Drew didn’t die from his injury but he is now paralyzed in both arms and from his knees down in both legs. Since this happened to him he is receiving treatment at home by his mother. Madison and Drew still see each other. They are to be married in a year and hope to have lots of children.
