She hopes that this house will shine new hope to the family. Her twin daughters had always dream of living in a mansion such as this. She smiles to herself as if knowing that she is going to face a whole new life soon. What a bless, she wonders to herself. “So, I guess you’re loving it!” her husband suddenly show up from behind, she is shock by his act but still manage to put a smile to her face knowing that his husband had always done it. “Yes, I do”, she answers him. She smiles to her new life. It was an old house, more to a mansion, which situated at North Dakota. The house was extremely beautiful inside out. It contained 18 bedrooms which each has it own bathroom. There is a big hall, a living room, a dining hall, library, a game room where you can play pool and some other stuffs, and an attic on top of the house. The yard of the house was also large and has it owns garden and a green house. You can tell that it’s a big house. The house was once belongs to Howard and Rosalind Windcastle. The House was named after the family’s name. The Windcastle. Chapter 2 – Leigh-Vie I can see that Jason did not prefer moving into a new house. He’s a real deal, anyway. He must have feel uneasy to stay away from his girlfriends. Moreover, they are now fighting due to this case; moving out. Actually, I don’t really know how much girlfriend did he have. All I know, there’s a lot of them. Among all of the brothers in my family, I can tell that he’s the most charming and popular one. The most handsome one is Kyle but he got problems. He is really cold to his environment. He has no comments about moving out. He says nothing at all. Nobody knows what’s going on inside his mind. I don’t know too and I guess nobody even dares to know. Sometimes, I even thought that he is critically insane. To wait to see he smiles is like waiting for the sun to rise from the west. To see he cries is like waiting for angels to come to my feet. To see he angry is like I don’t know. Can’t find my word. He never sings, never dances, and never had a girlfriend. I don’t know what with his life. And my favorite brother is Stanley. Stan is the man. He’s been a nice guy. With him around, I don’t think that nice guys finish last. He never lies except for once or twice while defending us; me and Vellette. He’s really loyal to his girlfriend and never deceives. He got the best-student title in the Cambridge University and he is about to be a practical lawyer. He got the offer from the most popular law firm in New York. He will go to work about three months from now. Vellette is my twin. I wonder what she’s doing keep looking outside the window ever since we’re on the road. “Hey ya! What are you looking at?” I ask her. She’s in total shock when she turn and moan at me then she says, “Didn’t you got any other job to do?” “Well, can’t you guess?” “Okay, that’s a ‘no’” I laugh a little. We’ve always been this close since ages ago. Since that we’re twin. “Hey! There it is!” I shout. We’re reaching the house now. The closer it comes, the clearer I can see the view of the house. Chapter 3 – The Arrival The four wheels vehicle that Joseph Iristana is driving stops right in front of the big mansion-like house. The vehicle contain two front seat where Joseph and Stephanie been sitting. Their sons and daughters sit at the back. There are six seats at the back. Stanley, Leigh-Vie and Vellette sit together whilst Kyle and Jason mind their own problems at the back. Jason is non-stop talking on the phone with one of his girlfriend. Kyle is sitting silently like a living dead. He is so out of this world. He didn’t sleep nor read. He just sits there staring blankly ahead. What a weird guy he is. He used to speak without using his mind because his mind was always somewhere else. Joseph step out from the vehicle and gaze the house with amazement. He turns to look at his wife, Stephanie. He begins saying, “Finally, we’re here. All of us are here!” Both of the twins step out to the house yard and start wandering around. Stanley walk toward his father and say, “What do you think this house will be like when I’m not around” “What?” “Won’t it be lonely? I mean, I’m working in New York” “You’re talking like you were unable to be here anymore after this” “No, I didn’t mean that” “Stanley, this is your house too, remember?” “I mean, would you be lonely without me?” Joseph start laughing and say, “To make you feel happy, yes, I’m going to miss you, okay?” Stan too, beginning to laugh. He knows that he was asking a funny question. Then, Jason move toward them and start complaining, “I’d told you this and I don’t mind saying this again, I don’t like the idea of moving here. I just don’t like it. There’s a bad feeling about it.” Stan looks at him and say in a calm way, “Look, I understand, the bad feeling is about staying far from your girlfriends, right?” “My man, Stan, you’re an understanding person. Well, it’s hard to search for new girlfriend, you know” “That’s why when you have one, you should learn about loyalty” “Come on! If you have the ability, you can’t just hide it” “You’re a real Casanova, Jason” “It’s my nature. I can’t change it” Then, they start laughing again. Kyle was staring at the garden as if he sees something. Yes, nobody knows him. Being a freak he is, not such an easygoing kind of person. People around him always wondering, Is he lonely?. He stares at the garden. A young girl around the age of five years old comes to his view. He turns to look at his family. They were all look so happy. He then, walks toward their car and takes his bag and all of his belonging. The door push open by his dad. He turns to look. He can feel it. He sure sees it. Those things are there, inside the house. There’s no need to complaint about it. Chapter 4 – Jason Why were all of them wants to move to this deserted place? I wonder what kind of people had I been living with since I was born. Didn’t they even thoughts of learning about my nature. I’m not a bad guy. I’m just learning how to live my life as a nineteen years old guy. Were they jealous? I mean, no matter where I go, girls would notice me. Why? It’s a secret. I can’t tell anyone about my own charm secret. Which room should I choose, huh? Hmm… This one seems cool. “Mum!! I’m choosing this room.” Wow! This is a wow room. Okay, I like this room. Maybe that was the only good thing of moving here. I sure hope there’s a lot of beautiful girl around. If I meet them what should I say? “Hmm… Hi! My name is Jason Iristana; I live at the Windcastle house. Ever heard of it?” okay, I’m speaking to myself now. “Ha! Ha! Ha!” laughing alone too. Oops! My phone is ringing. “Hello!” “Oh hey, Amanda… oops! Sorry Paula, I thought you were my cousin, Amanda… Yeah, I’m missing you already… Things will never be the same without you, honey… Sure, I love you so much… Until the day I die, baby…” And so it goes, my routine everyday. Full! Hehehe. Chapter 5 – The Disturbing This is Kyle, here alone in his room. Outside, it looks peaceful but that little girl are still playing and running around. Kyle wonders to himself why weren’t human have the same energy as the ghost had. Ghost never tired like that little girl outside. She’s still playing since then till now. The little girl turns to look at Kyle and smile at him. He didn’t smile back. What’s the use to smile at a ghost like she? He keeps playing the marble in his hand. Suddenly, a soft breeze touches his ear. He knew it, there’s got to be more of them. He turns around and witness before his eyes a beautiful young lady dressed in white staring and smiling at him. She’s still a teenage girl. He watches her with a cold look and then says, “Go!” “I’m not scaring you?” She is talking in an English accent. “Ghosts. I’m used to all this before” “But I am not like any other ghost. I understand if you have no fear over me” “Lady, just leave me alone, I need some privacy” He says that while walking toward his bed. He lies down, closing his eyes. Then, the young lady’s ghost whisper to his ear, “It’s not dark yet. The little girl haven’t stop playing.” “The little girl?” The ghost points her hand to the window. Kyle nods. Then, she continues, “She is six years old. Isn’t she is cute?” Kyle nods. The young lady looks at him then asks, “Me?” Kyle finds he is smiling a little to the question and then quickly hides the smile. He doesn’t even remember when was the last time he smiles. The young lady is not there anymore. “Hey Vellette! I want to take a bath now” Leigh-Vie speaks to her little sister, Vellette. “So do I. I’m going back to my room now”. Vellette walks through the hallway toward her room that is only two doors to Leigh-Vie room. She opens her bedroom door. Everything inside is just the same as how she had left the room. She takes her towel and move straight to the bathroom. On the other end, Leigh-Vie is taking a bath. She closes her eyes as she knew that the water always calm her down. She can feel that the peaceful moment is right there where she is taking a bath; the bathtub. There is a gentle touch down her hair. She opens her eyes quickly and turns around. No one is there. Maybe it’s just a feeling, she wonders to herself. She didn’t know and don’t want to know so she quickly ends her bathing session. “This room is big itself, isn’t it?” asks Joseph while taking out his clothes from the bag. “It sure is” “Kyle didn’t complaint about moving here?” “Never. He never complaints about anything.” “Where did he got his behavior from? I’m not like that and nor do you” “He’s the first one to drove in line and I can tell that Jason earn his nature Casanova from you. You’re never as loyal as me. Ago” “Come on, forget about the past. We have our future ahead. Why need to look at the past?” “Sure. You always know what to say” There’s a sudden shiver runs down Stephanie’s spine. She can sense something as the cold chill gathers around her. “What’s wrong” Joseph asks seeing a changing in Stephanie’s facial impression. Stephanie looks at him then says, “Do you hear that?” Joseph tries to listen but didn’t manage to hear any sound. “What?” he asks. “A baby. A crying baby” Now, this is getting weird, Joseph wonders to himself while still trying to hear the sound. Oh God, the sound is finally clear now. He can hears a crying baby and the much weirder thing is that it is not supposed to be for a baby to live inside the house. Jason puts his books on the table then looks down at his phone. The books fall down suddenly. He then puts the book back on the table. He is about to walk away when the books fall down again. He turns back around to witness the books are falling again. He takes the books again and puts it on the table. Then, right before his eyes, the books fall down by it selves. He says aloud, “What the hell…?” Suddenly, all the things in his room shake like an earthquake. He turns to his back to feel a strong wind push his body backward, he falls to the floor and that’s when he screams out loud. Everyone is at Jason’s front door now, watching his mess up room and his troubled face. Everyone that is, except for Kyle. He is always laid-back. Watching the terrible room, Stephanie asks Jason, “What’s wrong with you?” ”I’ve told you there’s something wrong with this house. Look what happen here.” “I’m sorry. I don’t understand” “It wasn’t me who did these. It was those things.” Vellette then asks, “Are you all right?” “Yes” “Good” Then, she walks away from there along with Leigh-Vie. Then, Jason murmured again. “That wasn’t a good sister” Stanley begins to speak as his mother leaves the room, “I don’t know how can you girlfriends stand with you. Always murmuring.” “Well, Stan. Maybe you should learn from me. I am not…” He didn’t finish his words as his telephone’s ringing again. His dad and Stanley begins to walk away from there and Jason, answering the phone. “Hello!” He then, sits on his bed in the messed up room. Looking at his feet, he continues speaking. “Yeah… of course I miss you, Melissa… I’m missing you already” then he finds that his room is totally clean when he looks up. He then says alone while still talking on the phone. “No way! … What? … No, I’m not saying it to you… of course I want to meet you… Melissa wait… listen to me” The line went dead. “She hang up,” he says aloud then stares at the room in amazement. “Thank you” he says again then his bedroom door cracks open. It was Kyle. He watches Jason for three seconds then closes the door back. He walks away from there. Chapter 6 – Kyle Paranoia, you can say that to me. Well, yes I am. Different from the society. Living in a life where there is only me. I’m strange. I’m not like any of them out there. I see things that they don’t see. I’m always not the same as them and that’s what keeping me away. I’m caught in between. I don’t know what should I do with myself and who’s to blames for this disaster I’m in. My life is fill with horror that others only seen in movies. I am so out of this world. I am the extraordinary, the paranormal. This is all because I can see ghosts. I can see the other world that lingers around all humans everyday. It’s hard for me to accept this long ago but I had live with this since I was born and I don’t care much about it anymore. Just as long as I’m able to ignore them. “Hi Kyle!” “You again” “Me” “What do you want from me?” “I just wanted to become your friend” “Well, ghost can never becomes human’s friend” “Just breaks the rules then. What you are saying may narrating the law of nature but what I am saying is the rights of making decision for yourself” “What do you mean?” “You have the right to choose, Kyle. You have the right to make friends no matter how different you are from your cycle path environment” “Lady, why don’t you counsel someone who would care to listen?” “My name is Rose. Stop that ‘lady thing’” Kyle gazes the young lady Rose then smiles. “Why did ghosts always know your name?” then he continues, “I guess I don’t have to introduce myself” Chapter 7 – The Riot Kyle, Jason and Vellette go out to town that day. Jason is driving and as usual Kyle sits at the far end of the car. Vellette sits next to Jason. “I haven’t heard of any your girlfriends anymore. Your phone stops ringing” Vellette starts. “No. It does ring. You little kid don’t know a thing” “Kid? Hello! I’m fifteen” “How about that bloody boyfriend of yours” “Oh! You call him bloody because one of your girlfriend left you for him” “Oh please! I sympathies her for not having a chance to be with a total classy guy like me” “Urghhh” “Just wait and see. You’ll witness with your eyes how charming you brother is to all girl” Vellette make an I-don’t-care face and turn around to look at Kyle behind her. Kyle, too, then look at her with his blurs face. Then, she asks Kyle, “What do they want us to buy for them?” “Well, … You’re going to have to see what I’ll buy” He always got freaky answer, She says in her heart. They reach a supermarket. They all got down. Jason, then see a pretty Barbie doll, he describes in his mind. He moves toward the girl. Then, Vellette stops him, “You can’t live without girls, can’t you?” “Vellette, just go and help Kyle, okay?” Vellette then follow up behind Kyle while glaring at Jason who’s already near the pretty girl. Kyle is choosing things in front of her. Vellette grab a can food that looks yummy to her. She then asks Kyle, “How about this one?” Without saying a thing, he takes the can food and put it on the basket. Vellette then moves ahead to walk beside Kyle and whisper to him, “thanks” Then, Kyle put his hand on Vellette hair with the love of a brother to a sister, Vellette smile. As Kyle is paying, Vellette wonders alone, Kyle never touches my hair like that before. And Kyle finish paying, She wonders again, I always thought he has no feelings, I was wrong. Jason is amazed by the story that the girl is saying about Rosalind Windcastle, the wife to the owner of the Windcastle mansion. When he sees Kyle and Vellette walks out of the supermarket, he says to the girl, “I’ll call you up, okay?” The girl nods. Then, he hurries after Kyle and Vellette and they get into the car and go away from there. When arriving home, they found there’s something wrong. When they hear the screams from inside the house, Vellette and Jason look at each other and hurrily run toward the house. Kyle watches from far, he can see that everything is happening at the same time. The angry ghost, the hardworking ghost, the crying baby, the little girl, the crying sad woman, the pregnant widowed wife are all making a riot at the same time. At the far end from the outside the glass window, he can see that Rose is standing, watching, helpless. On the other hand, as soon as Jason and Vellette got into the house, they’re observing the most unbelievable thing they ever witness. Leigh-Vie is on the floor, closing her ears and screams. The broken glass, shattering pieces and at the same time the mess are trying to be clean by something and yet the things are still being throw in all direction. They can hear crying baby and little girl’s laughing. The sounds of a crying woman come to their ear clearly. Kyle then step into the house. All of the sudden, the riot stops. Leigh-Vie stops scream. Stephanie who is hugging with Joseph starts looking around. Stanley who stood motionless before, now stands and hurries run toward Leigh-Vie who’s now crying. The house is kept clean again but the pieces of broken glass still lay on the floor. “It must’ve been the Windcastle” Jason says. “What do you mean?” asks Stanley. “Somebody told me that madam Windcastle suicide inside this house” All of them stood, looking at one another. Kyle walks toward his room, away from the rest. Inside his room, he sees Rose. “What was that all about?” he asks. “They were scared” “What do you mean?” “They thought you would never return” “Me? What does it has to do with me” “You’ll know” She then lost into the thin air. Chapter 8 – The Beginning of An End Kyle closes his eyes while trying to rest his mind as he bath in the bathtub. He comes to his surprised when he opens his eyes that Rose is there watching him. “Whoa!” he says out loud then continues, “What are you doing here?” “I’m watching you bathing” “Rose!” “You don’t have to feel shy. I’m a ghost, remember?” Kyle thinks in his mind that she got her point. He then smiles with a little sigh. He throws some water to Rose. “Hey! Stop it” She moans. Then, she watches Kyle in bewilderment. Kyle asks, “What?” “You hit me” “Well, yes I do” “But I’m not human” They stood watching each other in a few second. Then, Rose asks, “Can you touch me?” “I don’t know” “If you can, does that mean that you can even hurt me?” “I don’t know” Rose disappears then. He stares into the dark night at his balcony. He stills wonder if he can really touch the ghost and even hurt them. Well, maybe he just doesn’t want to know. If that’s so, he could also be a thread to the other world. Suddenly, Rose appears. He says, “Can’t you just go?” “No Kyle, you’re our only hope” “Hope? What hope?” “You would not understand. It is not the right time” “What do you mean?” “Well, never mind but you’re the only one who can see us. You can help us” “Me? Why me? Ever since I was born, my life was blessed with horror. Why did I see all of you? Why me? It’s a disaster!” “Maybe it’s a gift. You are actually blessed with a gift, Kyle” Kyle look at her then she continue says,
