Parts of Speech

What I wouldn’t give to find love in one

who is worldly but not jaded

      and humbly proud,

who is unashamed to take my hand

and dance a dance he doesn’t know,

who is scared to death of my cat

     but feeds him by hand,

who picks me flowers

     on my unbirthday—

whose strength lies in his great, good heart,

whose name means love in every tongue.
