                  CHAPTER I

                The First Born

It was a dark and cold dreary night in Dover Delaware. The city was very quite for the most part everyone seem to be in their homes for the night.
The people in Dover are very friendly and everyone seems to get along with each other. The city has had their share of bad thunder storms and winter weather but they have nver come across anything like this before.
At the Watson home all was very quite and peaceful in the night. Everyone in the home was asleep except for one person Grandma Zora. She is a very wise old woman who's lived for many years and has seen alot in her time.
She was sitting outside on the porch rocking in her favorite chair watching the stars go shooting by in the dark sky. Her husband use to watch the stars every night and would tell his daughter many stories. Sadly her husband past
away ten years ago due to cancer. Now Zora lives with her daughter Cyrstal and her husband Michael. Her daughter Crystal is expecting any day now and Zora is very happy about the birth of her new grandson. As Zora was rocking in her chair she heard whispers
in the wind go by her. She felt a cold icy chill surround her. Zora knew something was wrong but didn't know what. As she looked up into the skys again the stars seem to have dissapeared and the moon was on fire. Zora had a vision that something evil was coming.
She knew whatever it was that she needed to get her family away from here as soon as possible. Zora quickly left her chair and rain into the house. She opened the door to her room and slammed the door shut. Zora quickly opened her drawers and got out some candles, a cross,
and some potions. As she lit the candles she started mixing the potions. Zora was chanting some incantations in a different language that no human could speak of unless the human was special. A flash of light appeared before her in an image of an angel. The angel had long blonde
hair, blue eyes, and was wearing a white gown with a gold cross around her neck. She spoke to Zora and said " My dear Zora I know why you have called for me." Zora kneeled down before the angel. The angel was called Adreinna. She was the queen of all the lights. The lights were special beings
of special magical powers used to heal and protect those of pure goodness. There are many lights that live on earth as humans. Nobody really knows about the lights or even believe that they exist. They are told in stories and books but no human has ever seen one. The lights use their powers only when
they need to. They are like guardian angles and can only reveal themselves to those who believe in them and thier magic. "My lady I had a vision and I fear that an evil of some kind is coming", said Zora. Adrienna knew of what Zora spoked and also had the same vision. "I have also seen the vision you speak of."
"And I know the evil that awaits you", said the angel. Zora didnt understand what the vision was or about. "Then please tell me my lady what is this evil?", asked Zora. Adriena's eyes turned solid white and the light in the room got brighter filling the entire room. She told Zora the danger that awaits her is not for her to conquer.
The danger that awaits is for the one carrying the unborn. Zora looked at the angel and did not know what she meant by the unborn. "My lady what about the unborn", asked Zora. Adriena told Zora that prophecy tells of a great power that will born and will someday rule the lights. Zora's face was torn and her eyes filled with water for
she knew what Adriena spoke of. "You mean the one carrying the unborn is my daughter",said Zora. Adrina looked down at her and shook her head telling Zora that she was right. "Yes Zora your daughter Crystal is the one carrying the unborn child." "Crystal will face a terrible fate tonight while giving birth to her child", said the angle.
Zora asked the angel if there was any way to stop this evil from coming. Adriena knew Zora was afraid for her daughter's life, but the only way to stop the evil from coming is for a life to be taken. "My dear Zora you ask me questions for you already know the answer to", said Adriena. Zora knew that a life had to be taken in order to save her daughter and
unborn grandson. "There must be another way", said Zora. Adriena looked down on Zora and placed her hand over her head. "The evil that awaits wants great power and only the first born can do that", said the angel. The light in the room was getting dim and the candle's flames went out. "The first born is of great power but with many to follow in the
paths", said Adriena. She was slowly fading away back into the light. Zora shouted out to her to stop the angel from leaving. "Wait my lady." "How will I know the first born?", said Zora. "When life is given the first born will shine of great light to drive the night away",said Adriena. "My lady please help me", cried out Zora. "Zora believe in the powers
within for the light will show you the way", said the angel. Adriena was gone and Zora was in tears. She walked over to the bed and sat down. She was crying praying that everything would be alright. Zora knew what she must do to stop the evil from taking the first born. Her daughter Crystal got up from the bed and left her room. She walked into the kitchen to get something to drink.
Crystal opened the refrigerator and got out some orange juice. When she was a little girl her mother always gave her orange juice to calm her down so she could sleep better. Zora told her that orange juice helpe keep the evil spirits away. As Crystal poured the orange juice into a glass she heard someone crying. She left the kitchen and walked into the hall way. The crying was coming from her
mothers room. She walked over to the door and and knocked but she didnt get no answer. "Mom are you all right?", said Crystal. Zora was still upset not knowing her daughter was knocking at the door. Crystal continued knocking on the door and calling for her mother. "Mom are you okay?" "Open the door", said Crystal. Zora still didnt answer the door and so Crystal called her again. "Mom if you dont open the door Im coming in", said Crystal.
Zora got up from her bed and walked over to the window. "Alright Im coming in", said Crystal. She opened the door and seen her mother out of the bed standing at the window. Crystal shut the door and called her mother. "Mom are you alright?", said Crystal. Zora was quite and continued to look out the window. Crystal walked over to her mom's bed and sat down. "Remember when you were a little girl and how you use to sneak out with your father to watch the stars",
said Zora. Crystal started laughing and smiled at her mother. "Of course I remember." "How could I ever forget", said Crystal. Zora smiled at her daughter and looked back out the window. "Dad use to say when the stars would twinkle in the night that meant good fortune would come", said Crystal. Zora looked at her daughter and asked her what she was doing out of bed. Crystal told her mother she couldn't sleep and decided to go get a glass of orange juice. Zora remembered giving
Crystal orange juice when she was a little girl. "So you couldn't sleep", said Zora. Crystal told her yes and that she was having nightmares at night. Zora was shocked to hear that and asked her daughter what the nightmares were about. "I dont know exactly." "There is always this strange dark figure who is always coming after me", said Crystal. Zora was afraid of what her daughter was telling her. "Why was the stranger chasing you?" " Did it speak to you", asked Zora.
Crystal told her mother she didnt know why the dark stranger was chasing her. "It did speak to me though." "It said that I belong to it and that it was going to get me and my son", said Crystal. Zora knew that the evil was coming after Crystal and that it was trying to get her in her dreams. Zora sat on the bed with her daughter and told her that she needed to leave Dover and take her husband with her. Crystal looked at her mother very strange and wanted to know what was going
on. "Mom what are you talking about?" "I cant leave this is my home", said Crystal. Zora told Crystal that she must leave and that it was the only way for her to be safe. "Listen to me Crystal!" "You must move away from here." "You can not stay here", said Zora. Crystal was upset and asked her mother what was going on and why she was acting strange for. "Mom what are you not telling me?" "What is it",said Crystal. Zora was not happy that she told her daughter that she had to leave.
"I cant explain." "All I know is that you must go now", said Zora. Crystal didnt want to leave she wanted to know what was going on. "Mom Im not leaving till you tell me whats going on", said Crystal. Zora didnt have much time to explain but knew she had to get her daughter out of here. "Wait mom there is something that I forgot to tell you",said Crystal. Zora looked at her daughter with fear and concern. "What is it", said Zora. Crystal told her mother that her powers were acting very funny.
Zora didnt understand what her daughter was telling her but knew that if her powers were not acting right then it wasnt good news.
