Perspective Is How You View It by Cynara Moore (1)
"It began slow but got very interesting after a few paragraphs. I enjoyed it. As a writer of 15 you have a good sense of language and style." -- e. rocco caldwell.

War Of The Writers by Michael Harris (7)
"Certainly an interesting story, though I was a bit weighed down by your introduction which did not catch my attention well enough. This seems like it could be made into a novel... At times you may have tried too hard to insert your own experiences into the story. They add a nice dose of reality, but one does not want to be too transparent. The story reminded me at first of old-style science fiction like Isaac Asimov, but when the magic occured it took on more of a fantasy tone. Description could be a bit more smooth, but that seemed to improve as the story progressed. Keep Chugging! " -- MithralEnder.
"First of all, this isn't my genre or cup or tea. However, I found it to be well written. I just felt like I was sitting in a classroom watching an interaction with a professor and his student. If this is what you were going for, you succeeded. If not, you need to spice it up a bit. Just my opinion. Keep writing..." -- D. G. Williford.
"As a writer who also posts here, I must admit that I am a real fan of your work. I only hope that I can spend more time writing short stories like you. Unfortunately I must stick to the genre I work with now. You, please keep writing as it fits you well. " -- Skyler Drevan.
"Wow! What a wonderful thing to say to a fellow writer! Thank you so much for your comments. They were greatly appreciated." -- Michael, Detroit, MI.
"Interesting theme and very well crafted. You are a wonderfully gifted and talented writer with good command of language and style. I can'r say enough of your terrific use of dialogue throughout the story. I feel it is essential in dveloping characters and supporting the plot. You definitely have mastered this art. I also liked the ending. Very nice job, Michael." -- Gregory Christiano, Hopatcong, NJ, USA.
"Hey, Gregory! In a land where reviews are rare, your comments are greatly appreciated. I was thinking of making this a longer piece, perhaps a novel or novella and continuing the story of Marsellus. Who knows, maybe after I've finished up on my current works I will go back and edit it up a little. Take care." -- Michael Harris, Detroit, MI.
"Ehmm..m. Sehr gut Seite! Ich sage innig..!:) bmw" -- BMW, ..., ..., ....

We Are Climbing David's Ladder, Soldiers Of The Cross by Brotherman (1)
"Brotherman, you have a real talent of making inner city life worth reading. You find a story in almost anything and this speaks to your creativity. I loved this story with the two elements of crime such as the Safeco building guy and the crips. It takes something bigger than a few jive crips to get drugs into the city. This is a wondeful story. Well done." -- e. rocco caldwell.

The Tale Of Wee Tee by Brendan Flanery (3)
"I hadn't planned on reading this entire story, just really wanted to take a quick look. I was drawn in by the names of the tries of creatures and then the way that they all changed with each ice age. This story is amazing and full of so many details and descriptions. It was amazing!" -- KM (Michelle).
"That should read "Tribes" not tries...jeez, sorry about that" -- KM.
"Thank you. I'm going to try and write some more stories that complement it, sticking with mythic themes and expanding on the "Wide World." My email address isn't up but I'll gladly accept any advice or criticism: themidgetninja@earthlink.net" -- Brendan, St. Louis, mo, u.s..

"Rocco... I wish I could say it was a story. I was getting my holiday trauma out on "paper". Sad to say this is a very true story in my life. Deb" -- Author.
"sorry to hear that! " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"this has to be one of the hardest things to face, feel almost guilty saying good job but you conveyed the message so well. " -- Just A Guy.

The Cold, Bitter Taste Of Gin by Darcy K Metz (2)
"A damm good story. You really made the relationship dynamic between charlie and tracy belivable" -- brotherman.
"I likded this too but was nearly turned off because of the first sentence when you wrote he thought to himself! Whoelse was he thinking to? But i settled down and actually found this a believable and well written story. You took time to develop your characters using the events and situations around them instead of pouring useless information about them into the reader's mind. My concept of Charlie will be different from someone else's and that is good!" -- e. rocco caldwell.

Sail Away by Kevin Myrick (2)
"This is a wonderful story...is it based on an actual event? You know alot about sailing and that made this s fun piece to read. If you are planning on double majoring do it in English. You have a flare for writing...you can produce some great things if you stay at the craft. You have such wonderful potential." -- e. rocco caldwell.
"Yeah, I sailed a bit when I was younger, and it did actually happen. There were a few other 'adventures' on the water of sorts that summer, and the proceeding summers when my dad actually bought one of the tiny boats I learned to sail. thought I would "reply" to your questions. Thanks for the great review!" -- Kevin Myrick, Auburn, AL, USA.

"Yes, you can. I'm sorry you didn't like it but it is just one part of a whole story. Perhaps you should read the second part! But I will take your review to heart." -- e. rocco caldwell.

Clean Things...Part One by E Rocco Caldwell (2)
"dammm fine caption, E. I would love to see what you do with this." -- brotherman.
"Thanks, Brotherman. Be sure to read part two." -- e. rocco caldwell.

Broken Melody by Eyitemi Egwuenu (2)
"So is there some Hindu religious elements in this story. I like your opening line...life is a river. That draws a person into you story and gives it a change to commit themselves to reading it. I liked it as far as a fantasy. i thought the write was unique and spoke of a personal style. Good job" -- e. rocco caldwell.
"You write the most beautiful prose. Your word pictures are extremely vivid and your grammar is classical. I am a classics fan and your story is up there with the Bronte era. Thank you for a meaningful and well written story." -- Traveller, Nanjing, Jiangsu, China.

The World At Four O’Clock by Byron Blake (4)
"Really great mate. Right spot on. Just excellent in the way you say it is - got totally into the story and mainframe of being there. I'm a big fan of Byron Blake - good show - really great to see more new stuff of his floating around on the internet these days. You've got the tone and banality attitude that is for sure. Great read." -- Frick, London, UK.
"Fun reading, moves along nicely and causes you to believe it is really a derranged BBC person announcing. I like BB's stories as well and wish to read more. If any readers want to know more about the disaster then check out: http://www.scvhistory.com/scvhistory/stfrancis.htm this being one of the sites I used in my research. Some of the pictures there are incredible." -- Rowan Davies (Author).

"is this an actual legend? " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"Cool" -- Alvin.

The Haunted House by Cristina Yacovone (3)
"Originality is the essence of writing. This seemed too close to the Hanuted Mansion for my liking. This missed some of the important elements of short story writing such as conflict and climax. There wasn't any characterization that held the reader's interests. But for an eight year to write this...it is very good! You show a deep imagination that is vital for a writer and a good sense of flow of language that will flow you story along. Keep writing." -- e. rocco caldwell.
"this was very good Did you see waldisiney hunted Mansioin will this was good." -- J Harris.
"What a great story! I was on the edge of my seat all the way through! And to think that an EIGHT year old wrote this!? I can only image where she is now and all the feats she has to of accomplished 15 years later?! Bravo! Or should I say, brava?" -- A. Harris, Springfield, MO, U.S.A.

Shapeshifter - Part One by David B Doc Byron (1)

Semantics by E Rocco Caldwell (16)

"Big truckers rock the road, you don't." -- C.

"Interesting piece Rocco... I too would like to see you follow this with more. Great job! " -- D. G. Williford.
"needs a little background music - maybe 'beat it'. " -- JAG.
"I've perused much that you have written, mostly out of curiosity to develop a mental picture of you. You are most likely a young, black man (probably homosexual) who has a deep seated hatred for whites and the white establishment in general. You have some literary talent but your vision of your own ability and intellect is greatly exaggerated. You are a free man, yet nearly everthing you write about has the aura of lashing out at an enemy who would seek to enslave you. I suspect you are filled with paranoia, the primary source of which is your own guilt." -- Richard.
"And what university did you get your degree in psychology? First off, I am African-American but you missed on everything after this. I happened to be Married with two lovely daughters and a wonderful wife. I am a Assistant Pastor at a Christian Church and have worked inner city ministries since I was 18 I am 43 now. I have been a youth pastor for a number of years prior to being a Assisant pastor. I don't hate homosexuals but believe they are tormented because of other's inabilities to look beyond their own insecurities. I don't hate anyone but write about people I know...a lot are angry at the system that tehy see is white. There is freedom and yes I know I'm free but only to a point as are you. The presumption you make is that you are free yourself...but in reality we are tied down by the laws and cultures we participate in. I write about these cultures and mindsets! I appreciate your commit on my ability to write even though it was sort of a slam but I write what I feel. There's racism in the world, in this country on the strrets and in the workplace...that's reality! To ignore it is foolish. But at the same time there are people like I individuals I was blessed to meet to show me a different side to this world. I know there are more people who don't see race in the world that do! I have no guilt...Jesus my Lord freed me of all guilt. " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"You say our freedom is limited to the laws and cultures we participate in. What else is there? To wander aimlessly through life without having beliefs in a fundamental culture and laws, which are based upon a belief in God, is to grant license to any type of behavior. Incidentally, this is where we are headed, with the emphasis on secularism, not only in this country but throughout Europe. Our eutopian vision of a global economy is running parallel with global secularism. No God, no morality, no right or wrong and a reliance on a socialistic ideology to take from the successful and reward those who have no desire to be successful. " -- Richard.
"Look, Richard, I can careless about the philosophical mojo you are talking about...you attacked me as an individual saying things that weren't true based on your bogus analysis of me! As a writer I write about things I think will entertain and perhaps educate (not always) a reader. I write about things I believe in and things I don't. To base an analysis of a person on his or her creative writing is ...not very smart! I wanted you to know how wrong you were about me...Everything esle is inconsequential! The fact is you don't know what i think or anything else! It's best to keep it that way!" -- e. rocco caldwell.
"Writing to entertain? I don't see much of that in your work. Educating others requires objectivity. Likewise, I don't see much of that from you. I apologize to you for assuming you were gay. Your writing reflects more than merely acceptance of the homosexual lifestyle, which caused me to reach that conclusion. You ought to read David Horowitz's "Left Illusions." It might change your perspective about white America." -- Richard.
"First, I'm not white and you're not black! We are npt going to enjoy the same things. Objectivity is not seeing things the way you see them but my providing other views Views you might not like or accept or even believe in) because diversity is the cornerstone of objectivity. I would suggest you read the collective works of Noam Chomsky but you will already make an assumption concerning him because he wouldn't agree with your views. You made conclusions about me based on what I wrote but maybe the fact you're hung up on gays is because you have deep-rooted homosexual tendencies and why you think my stuff is racial is because deep down you are a white racist? See, I can make whatever assumption I wish concerning you and what you write. I don't accept the homosexual lifestyle...if you read the piece I did on gay marriage you would see that I never condoned gay marriage I just simply stated it was constitutional. See I can look beyond my own religious understanding to make a objective statement on an issue. Something you can't seem to do. In your world if poeple don't believe the way you believe they are wrong pure and simple...I stop believing I was God a long time ago. I can co-exist in harmony with those who don't believe the way I do. It doesn't lessen me as a person one bit. I learned this by writing. Yes, I write to entertain. Some people like what I write and are entertained by it...some like yourself don't! I'm sorry about that. We are educated everytime we read something regardless if you accept it or not! This is the process of be educated! " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"I don't want to beat this topic to death but I will say that I've been aware for years, of the Freudian bullshit about latent homosexuality. This theory is embraced primarily by homosexuals themselves, perhaps because it comforts them to believe that most men are not too far removed from them. Thus, education is only meaningful if it is based upon fact or truth and substance as opposed to unproven theory. Granted, you see the world from a black man's perspective, and it may be quite different from mine, but that does not mean it is reality nor does it mean that others should accept your view merely because it is diverse. Diversity in itself, is not a virtue. " -- Richard.
"Okay! I teach Christian Apologetics at my church along with recognizing Christian cults and I have learned when a person isn't debating in order to be enlightened so the best thing to do is to end the conversation. You are not willing to listen to a thing I have said but only wish to criticize my because if you would agree to any point I have made it may lessen you in some way! I'm sorry you assume I hate white people and that I am some how pushing a homosexual agenda and that my writing talent is distorted by over exaggerated vision and intellect. Your opinions and you can have them! I hope they keep you warm in the chill of ignorance and egotism! God bless you and have a safe and long life! Rocky out!". " -- e. rocco caldwell.

Path To The Top Of The M Ountain by Susan Brassfield Cogan (1)

Our City's Finest by David B Doc Byron (2)
"I liked this because all of the stuff you didn't write but allured to such as his knowledge of wearing gloves, the call made to the ploice was probably by him...this is great non-writing that hepls a story work. This is again a fine job of description! " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"I loved this... so unexpected. awesome... Deb" -- D. G. Williford.

Mr. Nasty - Ending by David B Doc Byron (1)

Mr. Nasty - A Crimehorror Tale Part One by David B Doc Byron (1)
"starting off interesting I admit. I want to see where this is going. I like the way you develop characters!" -- e. rocco caldwell.

Mother - Trucker - Part One by David B Doc Byron (18)
"That ain't no thing cause a boy gots to shift it into four wheel and run over them bitches and hos" -- C.
"This is one of your best...I think you have "C" as motivation! It's amazing how motivation can drive a writer. I can't wait fot the other parts! " -- e. rocco caldwell.
"C doesn't seem very swift. I don't think he even realizes you were insulting him Doc." -- Matt.
"Sounds like we got some of them lowriders here, can't get it up boys don't worry I'll be waiting with your girls at the city limits yellin thats my truck. " -- C.
"Doc and Rocco, I've contacted the Admin. to report all of the non-sensical gibberish "C" keeps spouting off, as well as his peculiar insults of nearly everyone he comes into contact, which seem to come out of nowhere and have no logic or reason behind them. Might I suggest you gentleman file a complaint as well." -- Matt.
"You wanna know my reasons little boy, its because you be a lowrider, and it be because I wanna take a big kilbasa up my ass!" -- C.
"Umm... yeah dude, that's just great. I'm really happy for you." -- Matt.
"Well C, I guess every last damn person on this site is wrong and you are right. Ha ha ha, you crack me up dude." -- Paul G..
"Paul's blatant sarcasm doesn't go unnoticed by these eyes. Hello, Doc, fine work as usual. You probably don't remember me, but I was Girly Girl. I've always been a big fan of your work and continue to be, coming back to this site every so often to check it out. I used to be pretty prolific on this site as well, my most popular work being Ghost Dance, which I think you said you liked, unless that was D.G.. Oh well, anyways I removed all my work because I didn't want any publisher claiming that Storymania had first print rights on it, and now I use www.writersbbs.com where I'm being tutored by other, many of them published, writers and editors. I also stopped using Storymania because of all the nonsense that goes on here, and the fact that the administration refuses to do anything about it, and I see that that nonsense is as strong as ever. I'm sorry you are still forcing yourself to be put through that Doc. Well, if you want to we'll welcome you with open arms at the bbs. Plenty of people there to show you around too, if you get lost. See ya around in any case." -- Helen Maddox.
"Hey there Girly Girl, been awhile, I've been to the WBBS, but I didn't completely like it, it was kind of confusing, and the people there kept telling me how I should write. I know, I know... that's the whole point. I suppose it would work for lots of people though, I know that alot of former Storymania writers have fled there, and are really happy about it, but its just not for me, since I'm looking to just post my work for the whole world to see and am not really interested in becoming a mainstream published author and learning how to improve the craft. But for those who are I guess it's certainly a place to go. Don't be a stranger to us Storymania folk." -- Matt.
"I see somebody followin me in my rear view and it be them bitch ass niggers. So now you know why they created the navagiational system so you can find your woman when I'm with em. If it wasn't for matt the bitch ass nigga settin in my dust I wouldn't be settin on the west coast while you rolls up in the hunk of junk. So for all the whiny ass pussies like Matt who just can't pull out his own Gat and make himself look like a jackass ever time he talks park your lowriders at the curb cause your ass is trashed when it come to me and my boys." -- C.
"Can I get a translation on that? :-)" -- Paul G..
"I don't understand his perpetual insults of lowriders and those who drive them. I am proud of my Latin heritage and part of that includes the predominance of lowriders in the Mexican-American community. My dad once owned a very styling lowrider Impala in the early '70s, and they do have a rather prestigeous magazine devoted to them. " -- Melinda Muenoz.
"Me not speak slow enough for you." -- C.
"Do you honestly not understand why everyone on this site doesn't have a great liking of you C? I'll explain it, and then that'll be it. You are insulting and without cause to everyone you come across. Whenever you post a message no one can figure out what you are trying to say. We wonder what you want and why you are here. We are trying to be friendly, but your actions just seem odd, alien and insulting to us. I'm sure if you have any intellect you can see that. Please, tell me you have some understanding. In any event, I will no longer speak to you, quite honestly I have no idea what you're saying, except when you tell people to fuck off. I'm sure you won't miss our little chats either." -- Matt.
"Matt, don't even bother dude, you can't get through to a guy like that." -- Paul G..
"Well, one can always try, though I think I know what I'll get for my trouble." -- Matt.
"Oh so now I am not as intelligent as you. Well at least I am not a lying bitch like you. " -- C.
