The Harmattan
Tunde Alabi-Hundeyin Ii

It was mid November
Month after October
I woke up from my slumber
Harsh was the weather.

I went to my window
I beheld the meadow
Hazy, the clouds,
Crazy! I thought.

I dusted my cover
Hoping it would be over
I shut my eyes all over
My slumber is not over.

Mama called from yonder
I replied from under
The weather is not my delight
I will arise in the night!
